Ahh yes, that is just a standard server rule.

However as far as I am concerned there are no teams in PW mod in that sense. If a faction wants to safeguard themselves from traitors and assassins then that is their responsibility. Do not cry to the admins about "teamkilling" instead work on your security.
 
Finished porting my map to the new version. Server is now live.

I fortified the island village somewhat, it is far from impenetrable but is certainly defencible.
If you are a trader then the city will be your new home but don't think you will be able to make money without a trade route.
If you are a serf then I hope you serve your lord well or you may have troubles cashing in.
As always I have looked after the bandits, check your regular haunts to check on the new facilities.
I made the taverns a bit more fighty (so happy to see my suggestion got in, the battle lute and all :grin: ).
Theres 2 banks, one in the city. The other is the kings.

Please report any bugs to me in this thread or by PM preferably with screenshots so I can easily locate them!
Note: My map is not necessarily meant to be balanced, it is meant to be realistic, to a point. I do not make arena style maps with a castle for every faction.

If you do not like the rules of our server or want to whine for no good reason then please take this advice.

suggestions:
-imo roads are too wide - looks like highway... If you want to encourage travelling via roads instead of fields and forests, make roads a bit higher and unsmooth fields (small holes here and there, small hills...) but cavalry players will hate you :wink:
-bandits hideouts should have imo at last one emergency exits, in case of town watch raids
-some parts of the map are too far away from action, and I doubt that they will be used ever. Also "lower part" of the map should be connected better with "upper part" - for example by road: starts at tavern->near bandit hideouts-> ends between helms deep and sea.
-and post map overview in the firs post - it helps new players a lot.

I will fix the first thing for sure. So long as I remember for next version, the other two hovever are trickier. If I remove that wood I have to adjust the scale of the tavern wall and it might look messed up as it will be a different scale from the rest. If it does I will then have to adjust the scale of all other walls and will have to do so in exactly the same way. Maybe I will box it in with stone instead. The import writing is also a total ***** to select! But maybe I can bring the whole stand forward a little instead.

Suggestions:

This map I wanted there to be plains for cavalry fights. There is reasonable road use IMO due to the massive hills where the road is the main viable route. My next map is going to be pretty cav unfriendly though :wink:

That is def an idea for my next map, but I think it will be too time consuming for now. Maybe if I return to this map after my next one. I am trying to just make this one work to an acceptable standard so I can get workin on the new one.

I wanted it to be like that, both the quiet areas and the long travelling times. It makes the map seem bigger, and basicly there is stuff even in the quiet areas, there is almost no area devoid of reason to go there. Maybe it is annoying for some people but I wanted it to be :razz:
 
Back from my trip, but school starting tomorrow, but i might be able to squeeze in a few minutes of gametime.
 
I really think there should be more than one iron deposit, it makes virtually the whole server hog the hill castle and there is no real competition, because no one can compete with the faction EVERYONE will join, players are rarely seen on the bottom half of the map now.

There needs to be one in the wooden town and lake town too.

It is far too easy a way to make money. I made it so you can only make epic iron money at the castle so there is a good reason to have it. If factions have so little class as to let anyone in then they are going to have infiltration troubles.

There is plenty of money to be made as a trader as well and the lower mine gives you instant money. Though maybe I will put in a couple of 1500 bars down there too.
 
I am sorry for saying it but 22nd PW server is totally ****ed now (sorry for that word but I have to use it...). New map? Well it's okay, no problem. But why is permitted killing unarmed civilians, selfs etc.? Whites DMing all the time, someone should stop it! It's not RP server anymore, it's DM server...

I loved to play without random DMing but it seem that times are gone...
 
Give us names and proof and we ban the ****ers.

Seriously, you aren't allowed to kill anyone you want without a justified reason.
 
Give us screenshots or videos of people breaking the rules or it just become something like

The problem is that one castle controls, basically, the income of the whole server, or at least the iron income which is the strongest. They start to trip on the power and charge ludicrous taxes and make strange rules like "no horses" - presumably to stop us from running away when they try to kill us? I don't even know. It's frustrating not having another option, even if they were tyrants you'd still have another place to try and sneak into.
 
Then how about organising some sort of revolt, or go bandit and prey on them where you can. If people are being unreaosnable form some resistance!

That is the whole point of my map. King vs The people.

I guess I see your POV, but I still find it annoying. Most of the people in the server will join the one kingdom because it controls the games' economy, so the bandit town has one rogue dude shooting people in it and the cliff-face castle has two or three people getting no action - and no income - who get bored and quit or join the other faction. And we poor little miners have noone to turn to!

There were only 20 or so people in the server though, so perhaps that was the problem. Boredom breeds douchebaggery.
