22nd New Server Launch Event.

Hey great community,

Finally after so much time it is here.
The 22nd will switch to a new server box.
Giving our player base finally what they have asked for; good performing 200 player battles. The time has come! 

First a few specs...
Old machine:

• Intel Core i7-920 at 2.66 Ghz
• 8 GB DDR3
• Linux Ubuntu Server 9

New Machine:

• Intel Core i7-975 at 3.33 Ghz.. But overclocked to 3.8 Ghz.
• 12 GB DDR3
• Windows 2008 R2

The pure CPU power increase is 42 %
On top of that after extensive testing It seemed that windows runs these servers 5-10 % faster then Linux.. So great improvements all around.


The new server is online today. (Wednesday the 15th of September).

To Celebrate this we will hold a battle launch event.

Today at 8 PM BST (Time in england) there will be a big open public event at our battle server, we will stress test this new box

If it runs as smoothly as the Vinnie the Duke says, I might be convinced to try out some 200 madness again. It lagged horribly before, to the point of me giving up on it entirely, but the new computer specs look rather nice though. Will be interesting.
