It's not ridiculous. He does this stupid cowardly **** all the time. Pretends I say something wrong, but can never substantiate anything he says when confronted. He's dishonest, there's no charitable conversation to be had. So if it's just all posturing, then I have no problem with that.

I'm not trying to be brave, I enjoy discussing things. Preferably, I'd agree with people even if I have to compromise, but if there's bad faith, then I don't have to extend any charitability. That simple. You're cowardly because 1. you attempt to discredit me or the things I say in bad faith, but then tell me to stop when I retaliate and 2. you never substantiate the things you say so we can have an actual good-faith discussion, and instead, in my impression, prioritize preserving your ego and maintaining face. It's boring and disappointing.
