2000+ Vaegir Warparty attacks Ichamur

Ok, so I was playing the Sarranids and I'm waiting at Ichamur - game is minimized because I'm checking the Internet and such - when i maximize the screen there is over 15+ lords knocking on the city gates.
I attacked them and on the preliminary screen it says there are 2352 Vaegir opponents.

This is by far the biggest military campaign ive ever seen.....

Just thought it would be worth mentioning but has anybody seen more than this?

haha well ive yet to try the new ai for seiges but it is possible to win provided the battle advantage ratio hasn't crippled you down to 3 men. You'll feel bad ass if you win

It's not that rare. I usually see those cases when a faction goes to war after a long time in peace. The last one i see 2k+ battle was between swadian and rhodok, those 2 were in peace before the war. About 18 swadian lords attack Veluca (~2300 or 2400 soldiers swadian vs 300 rhodok), after 1 days, other rhodok lords join the fight, so 2000 swadian vs 2500 rhodok, the battle log was so long that i can only see the upper part : all rhodok army and some of swadian lords name, there was no way to see the swadian army during the fight, may be TW should do smth about this.

I notice that many of them lords are Swadian
I['m guessing that in your game the Kingdom of Swadia has ceased to exist?

Yes for that game I was marshal of Khergits that destroed Swadians, Rodoks and at thih point at  war with Nords and Vaegirs. Eventually Khergits unified Calradia

My biggest failure was my attempt to become a king. I attacked the rhodoks with my 50 Swadian Knights. They controlled the Weyyah castle then and it was weakly defended, so I captured it. I was a king for 4 days. 

Then, when I was almost settled in, I saw a nightmare at the horizon. There was about umm.... erm..... , well let's just say that there was a hell lot of Rhodoks (sorry, I don't remember the number, but I'm not liyng).

They sieged my castle, I had about 30 Swadian knights and 10 Sharpshooters.

The battle began.... 1...2...3 times they charged and 3 times we killed their troops.

But that was nothing to them. They waited another 2 days, giving me time to surrender, which I didn't do.


On the fourth day of my kingdom they charged.

We defended the castle with all our strenght, but then Lezalit died, then Marnid, and then ..... me.

That was my first and the most painful attempt to become a king.


The morale of this: get a lot stronger than me, before becoming a king.


I was level 36 then.

lol i was only about level 20 when i became king!  you just have to watch for the right opportunity and take it.  how many factions were they at war with?  yep, you attack a faction that doesn't have any other enemies you're gonna get ****ed in the ass.

I was only war with rhodoks. And I tried to get some of Swadian lords to join my kingdom too, because I was their vassal before and I already had a plan where they were ready to support my. But I didn't see any option where you can ask them to join me.

King of Ireland, lesson one : dont mess with Rhodoks especially in Warband (since Crossbow damage increased severely)

Rodoks are also like to mass armies. Once I tried to defend my castle aganist 900+ Rhodoks and I lost more than 30 knights + 30 Huscarls + 60.000 denars...(Well, it was not that big problem since I was the only owner of all vaegir and nord soil )

Get used to it, if you have your own kingdom and start taking over others the lords from the defeated kingdoms are going to go to other factions. Eventually you'll get to a point where you'll actually need to make use of your own lords and run around on campaigns with your entire force behind you.
