2-sided textures

First off, the search results. The only usefull thread was this one:

With this bit of text in it:

An attribute in the OBJ material file is called "double-sided" but is used to allow the viewing of the same texture from both sides.

I had that working in M&B fairly early on but didn't like seeing the reverse of the cowhide on the soldiers side...

So the guy got it working. But I can't get it working. Too bad. Here's the situation (tree modeling):

Viewing the canopy from 'the sky'.

Viewing from the ground. Bit empty-ish.

So, how can I show the same texture on both sides?

Here are the material properties by the way.
 
theres no way to define a 2 sided polygon so the way the developers do it is they duplicate the polygons they want 2 sided, then flip the normals

for wings 3d I believe this is called Invert and is in the object menu
for blender in edit mode select all vertices. Then press CTRL+N to flip normals.
