First of all, we apologize for the problems that have happened with the 2.049 patch. A bug was introduced with the recent 2.049 update. We have rolled back VC to version 2.048, so you should be able to play without any issues now.
Be aware that save games that have been saved within version 2.049 are most likely corrupted. You can attempt to recover them from “last_savegame_backup.sav” or your Windows backup or file history.
For those that cannot recover their games this way, we are currently in the process of considering remedies up to and including attempting to fix them in our shop.
We will have more information in the next 24 hours.
