About

The 2ème Régiment d'Infanterie Légère is a North American voltigeur-based regiment. We pride ourselves in skirmishing where we use quick paced maneuvers and loose formations to bring hell down upon our foes. We recognize ourselves as a mature regiment, able to get serious when we need to be, yet having fun all the same. We won't permit trolling inside or outside our linebattles/teamspeak. Trolling is strictly prohibited and will be met with appropriate discipline. Trainings are important. It teaches members formations and drills that will be executed on the field of battle, crucial to our quick deployment and most importantly the casualties we impose on the enemy.

On to history. The 2ème seen plenty of action during the Napoleonic Wars. The one battle honour that was placed upon their eagle was the Battle of Friedland. I've tried to locate a more in depth description of the 2ème's role in the battle, but alas I have failed. I can presume they fought valiantly due to it being awarded on their eagle. A full record of engagements can be found below. At Waterloo, the 2ème was the largest french regiment in attendance; Comprised of four battalions, it fielded 2,294 men and officers. They were one of the first regiments that were a part of the assault on Hugoumont. During the battle, Colonel Pierre-Francois Maigrot was wounded.

Officiers and Sous-Officiers
Regimental officers and NCOs are what hold the regimental discipline together. They enforce our code of conduct within the regiment and most importantly lead our members valiantly into battle. To become one of these men, you must be a highly disciplined member. Dedication and activity will get you here. Coming to linebattles, assisting with recruitment and training our ideal traits in officers and NCOs.

  • Capitaine - Overall regiment leader and diplomat; makes final decisions on regiment issues and leads the regiment on the field.
  • Lieutenant - Regiment officer, assists the Capitaine in all duties along with filling absences. Should be very capable man.
  • Sous-Lieutenant - Regiment officer-in-training, under the mentorship of the Capitaine.
  • Sergent-Chef - Translating to "Chief Sergeant", he is the senior NCO of the regiment; he ensures that every member is acting accordingly and takes proper action on violaters.
  • Sergent - Regiment NCO, this man assists the SgtCf and does misc. things for the higher-ups, so to speak.

Hommes de Troupe
The Hommes de Troupe is what makes up the important part of the regiment. These men are highly trained, full capable skirmishers who make up the regiment. These men should be highly disciplined (as stated above) and dedicated to the regiment. Dedication is defined as attending events regularly, playing nicely with others in public servers, assisting in the recruitment process. Every member should strive to be better and better. Upon first joining the regiment you will start as a Cadet. After proving yourself active and ready to become an official member, you will be promoted. Promotions are given based on performance and dedication, so you should constantly be improving your game!

  • Caporal-Fourrier - This rank is meant as a transition from ranker to staff. People with leading potential are given this rank to be further mentored by the Capitaine.
  • Soldat Vétéran - This is the senior enlisted rank. He knows how to handle himself in both melee and shooting along with being prudent in his activity and dedication.
  • Soldat de Première - This man has proven his skill as a voltigeur, showing extreme capability in battle skill.
  • Soldat - Core of the regiment, these men have proven their activity and shown they are dedicated.

Hey gang! Check this out!

We had a great time at the linebattle, our team was very cooperative. The 60th were great skirmishing opponents, glad we were able to fight them.

Here is a screenshot of our last stand against the British charge.
