Hello all german or english members who own M&M. I'd like to introduce the newly founded 1te_Garde_Gren_Regiment .
We are a german group but we going to be international
at the time we are 42memebers,and we have 20 active players[/size]
Our History:
In 1814 issued a "Most High Cabinets-orders" to form two infantry regiments. One of these was the Alexander Regiment. It was formed from the body Grenadier battalion (of the body-Grenadier-Regiment König Friedrich Wilhelm III (1st Brandenburg) No. 8, formerly known as: 1. Brandenburg Infantry Regiment) and 1 East Prussian Infantry Battalion (East Prussian brigade, battalion to the 7th September 1807 von Schlieffen) and the 2 East Prussian Grenadier Battalion (West Prussian brigade, battalion to the 7th September 1807 v. Fabecky), is the 14th Foundation Day 1814. In the formation of the Prussian army after the wars of liberation were only tribes and formations of the old army use, which had performed well in 1806 and proved in the wars of liberation. The first battalion was formed from the siege of Kolberg in 1807 by the famous rock-forest Battalion, II and III. from the oldest regiments of the Brandenburg / Prussian army. The chief point was the Czar of Russia, after which the regiment on 19 October 1814 as "Grenadier-Regiment Kaiser Alexander" was named (from 27 November 1819 "Kaiser Alexander Grenadier Regiment"). The list of officers from October 1814 comprises 59 names, including 14 citizens. 40 officers, including almost all civil, wore the Iron Cross 2nd Class, three are the first Class and five of the Order Pour le Mérite. On 18 February 1820, the regiment received the Guard rank. The last name change took place on 14 July 1860 in "Kaiser Alexander Garde-Grenadier-Regiment 1".
The regiment garrisoned the entire period of its existence in Berlin. His barracks was first in the Alexander Strasse 56, near the Alexanderplatz [1]. As the old barracks building in the 19th Century was no longer sufficient and the units of the regiment to other locations in Berlin had to be distributed [1], the regiment moved to the beginning of the 20th Century a new building on today's Geschwister-Scholl-Straße (formerly Prinz-Friedrich-Karl-Strasse [2]), between Friedrichstrasse station and the Museum Island (in the copper pit). The National People's Army of the GDR notified the barracks complex after Friedrich Engels, who had completed his military service as a one-year volunteer with the Guards Artillery Brigade on Weidendamm 1-3 [3]. There was until 1990 the guard regiment of the NVA. Today the barracks complex is in part in the so-called Museum houses the German Historical Museum (DHM) and the State Museums Berlin - Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. Other buildings used by the Humboldt University in Berlin [4]. The popularly known as "Old Exer" designated parade ground of the Alexander Regiment was on Schönhauser Allee in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg, there was Hertha BSC to 1905, his first games. Today, there is the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark.
The first wax lift with bands playing at all in front of Schinkel's Neue Wache "took place on 18 September 1818 during the visit of the regiment leaders, Tsar Alexander of Russia by the Alexander Regiment.
