This Regiment is part of the 5th "Flashheart's" Brigade of the British Army
Regimental History
Formed in 1865 as The Queen's Regiment of Horse. Renamed The King's Own Regiment of Horse in 1714 in honour of George I. The regiment was bestowed the title 1st King's Dragoon Guards in 1751. They never really did much until The Great War where having royal connections (The Habsburg's, Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria was Colonel of the regiment until the outbreak of the war) they fought in Third Afghan War (1919) and distinguished themselves there and in later wars.
(So obviously we are here to re-write history and make The 1st King's Dragoon Guards a name to be feared across the continent!...Hopefully)
Line Battle on 12th February 2012 - Loss.
Siege of 16th February 2012 - Win (Successfully took the fort and held against enemy counter attack).
Line Battle of 17th February 2012 - Win (A Pyrrhic Victory).
Line Battle of 20th February 2012 - Loss (Outplayed, was good game still, well done our opponents for the day
though we did pull off some nice play if I say so myself in the last 2 rounds)

Training will be at the following times (All times are GMT London, Lisbon time):
Before Line Battles, so Saturday: 1800 training, 1900 as Cavalry will follow on straight from the end of training. Sunday line battle as Cavalry (1830 training, 1900 lb). Most of the events we attend we go to as a brigade so we play with lots of other great regiments where we co-ordinate between us which makes playing in linebattles even funner

The 1st King's Dragoon Guards recruit from across the world - all that is required is that you are able to understand English well and are able to use Teamspeak 3. We follow the Lord Flashheart's Rules which are as follows: I've based this regiment on the philosophy "Have a laugh but get the job done." This means:
1. This is a game, the whole point of it is to have fun. Just know where the line is and don't take stuff over the top.
2. I expect and encourage banter between our soldiers, but once again - know the line and don't cross it. Keep it within the regiment, as other people may take it the wrong way.
3. Unless you tell me or another officer otherwise, I expect you to turn up to trainings and Line Battles. I don't mind if you simply don't want to play tonight or you're playing another game, just let me know so that I have a rough idea of what numbers I'll have. Like I said in rule 1 - this is a game and we're all here to have fun. I'm not going to force people to play.
4. Finally, I do expect applicants to have some level of maturity. I don't mind what your age is, as long as you are aware that one of my pet hates is immature people who always take the joke too far or constantly ignore orders.
So basically have fun, fight well, just use your common sense as to where the line is and know how far to take things.
I would like to think that I'm an easy going person, and as long as you don't intentionally disobey orders or act like a tool, then I'll stay that way. I enjoy this game and I especially enjoy fighting in Line Battles, and I'm looking for people who enjoy that or want to start enjoying that.
