Time to tell you a little bit about what is going on on the multiplayer build.


Two new game modes:

Hold the Flag

Rules:
  • Two teams, respawn rules similar to TDM.
  • There's one flag on the map. It is spawned at a random position in the beginning.
  • Both teams have to try to capture it.
  • The team that can keep it for a certain time (90 seconds by default) scores.
  • After a team scores the flag is respawned at a random position on the map.
  • When the flag holder dies, the countdown is stopped and reset to 0.

Gold Rush

Rules:
  • Deathmatch rules. No teams.
  • Several gold bars are spawned on the map.
  • Goal is to get as much gold as possible.
  • When one gold bar is captured, a new one is spawned at a random position.
  • Gold bars are highlighted on the screen, so that they are easy to find.

Perfectly suited for objective modes like conquest or gold rush:



Also, most models are ported to warband. What is left is mostly balancing and map making.

me get very excited....

What about an "invasion" game mode ? poor players versus respawning horde of mexican guerilleros/ apache fighters.. with ammo respawn decreasing with each wave of guerilleros...
 
what about line battles (1 general, several officers, and the rest is line soldiers) ?

and some ideas for more modes:

- hold the fort (can be several stuff, depending on the map, like a barn, bunker, headquarter office), basicly a team has to protect it (spawns inside), while the other has to capture it

- bank assault, similar but 1 team has to steal the money from the bank and retrieve it to a X place, while the other has to protect it

Well, that doesn't have much to do with coding. You just have to organise those battles and then you can play them.

Sounds similar to siege battles.

Edit:
Successfully ported to 1.123 module system.
 
Probably pretty similar ( =not much additional work), I'll take a look now).

Edit: Yeah, we can continue with the 1.123 modsys without problems.
