1866 - Help Needed

We just don't have to time to do half of the work, sorry.

Texture mapping is a big part of modeling.  Once you have that down, come back and offer your services.

I'm a decent modeller, just can't get models into game. i'll help ya though!

See the above examples please.  Keep working and let us know when you are self-sufficient.

Feel free to pick some of that up and do that voice acting you were talking about. You could also come up with additional dialog, or transpose over text in game to be vocalized.

I can help with voice acting.

Okay guys, I'll cut the "great mod blabla" and get to the point:

I'd like to contribute some of the Random Encounter Scenes. However there's a slight problem:

I'm not able to tell wich scene I'm to edit at the moment. Didn't find anything about that in the Forge, so it might be just simple enough to escape my notice. Whatever: How do I find out wich Battle Scene I'm to edit?

I'd like to help in Scene Editing if still needed - Mostly have Modified have no idea how to create a separate Scene yet
Here is Fort Frederic (not finished)

Some objects are just placed while going through list of items so they haven't been set right

I've got some time and thought I might teach myself how to use the scene editor. I saw the link to the tutorial on it and figure It'll cover most of what I need to know.

I just wanted to ask a few quick questions that might help me make some scenes that can be useful beyond just keeping me entertained as I make them.

Do you need any particular area types? There isn't a lot of forest area on the current map. Is that likely to change? Will you need more encounters for that area? If the map is to change will there be any new terrain types? I just started playing the mod again, actually reinstalled M&B just because I was missing it, but I don't recall seeing any encounters with rivers passing through them. Would you all like some? How intent on geographic and historic realism are you all?

Anyways I have no plans to pester you all with how to questions. Tried to keep them to the kind that would be useful to other more experienced scene editors. I'm going to fool around mostly for my own entertainment. If I get the hang of things fairly well and am pleased with what I turn out I may try to submit them for use in the mod.

Edited: Oops, found a scene with a river. Nice one too. But anyway. Maybe more wouldn't hurt?

We rather need small maps

Flat terrains...

hills cause hit registration and so forth problems

Rivers may be.

But forests cause lag, so we would rather avoid it.

A building like a farmhouse, or any kind of obstacles maybe good for some strategy and cover. You may pile your infantry there to get advantage over cavalry. But one or a few obstacle is enough, maps should be almost empty except cactus and trees

And get damage for embracing cactus !
naa joke

Could be some kinda desertic scene, with cacti and rocks and some ruins of some kind,
an old mission, wells fargo station or something.

If you ported over the warband forests wouldn't be a problem.  But I'll definitely keep those in mind as I'm fiddling around. I've still got plenty to figure out on my own and having goals gives me motivation. As I said if I ever manage to produce something I think is worth a look I'll submit it. Thanks for the info.

Good to know I'll try making some random/Quick battles and see what I come up with.

Possibly a stupid question but can a Village scene get edited to be a random/generic/quick battle and be renamed or does the .sco file have an internal ID as it's a real pain trying to run around the map to get the same scene you were editing, if a Village could be edited in this way I'd have easy access .

With Towns and forts can too much detail be bad, you can see what I've done here http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,114282.0.html ( I add to it all the time).

While editing Camp Luther and placing the AI mesh I've found the AI is very STUPID and figured the AI mesh does not work like I thought it would so I'm looking at putting the entry point at the gate.

Also do you Assign Entry Points in mod or are they generic as I still need to learn what they all mean.

I have fixed my error on modelling, and am willing to help with modelling (I know how to texture, don't worry.)
if you need help, I'll help you.

i was thinking about adjusting some of the textures of guns (for a personal idea  ), when I noticed most of them show up as being transparent in GIMP  :???:

Is there an explanation for this?
