The reason large army stacks are being continually created is because council of the Commons once passed is super unbalanced and grants 1 influence per notable. Needs to be reduced by a factor of 10 imo. Hopefully this will be addressed soon

I've seen lots of doomstacks but with huge amounts of recruits though, even in the richer factions who are not exhausted by continuous wars. At least it *feels* like I'm seeing more recruits in the armies.

Smithing is still broken.
No proper two handed weapons except cleaver in shops.
Overpriced bows.
No proper armor in shops.
Crossbows are bugged as the weakest crossbow requires 20 crossbow skill. Impossible to use unless you invest points at character creation into crossbows.

It's fine, you can get to 100/125 quite fast, but going higher is still no easy going, it takes a long time, especially in those skills that would really matter, like tactics.

Also, the change to 1 attribute every 4 levels = bad design choice in my eyes, it should be one every level until lvl 15, then 1 every other level. Otherwise it's close to impossible to get any attribute to 11, and by this having a chance to get a skill to 275++.
How so? You do have a chance to get skills to 275. Just not ALL your skills, and certainly not before level 20. This just makes the player specialize in a few fields eventually, since you need both the individual skill expertise and the stat boost. Those choices are just that much more meaningful....don't waste them

I've seen the same.

I think they needed to adjust the angle of the level up process: more out of battle training opportunities versus easier to level up.

- The Charm skill especially is absurdly fast to level (no mods), it makes zero sense
Right? I'm at like 94 charm on day 114, and I'm not even bartering with people THAT much. I always got around 1-2 Charm levels per barter, until I got past maybe 90?. Makes speech checks way easier though...

Bartering mechanic should be scraped. It doesn't make sense at all, since when lord want to trade between commoners some junk ? Should be limited to Towns Prisoners Relations and troops.

I've tested this mod out and it works really well! Pretty much reverts the changes done to a.i so they aren't complete trash. Went straight into a tournament, put the ai difficulty to 100 and got my ass handed to me. Definitely recommend!

Oh bless your heart for posting this. Just what I needed.

You all saying the xp is fine are insane. See my breakdown here

Its F2P MMO levels of grind still. Better than it was, but still crazy. The lows are too low and the highs are way too high.

blacksmithing exp gain is very much tied to weapon length, damage, difficulty. Until you gain something very cut-heavy like, it is extremely slow.
Until you can make 4,5-4,7 cut modifier 2 handers/polearms/axes, you wont do well. And when you break this point, youre selling up to 58k gold, with which you can at first get up to say, 25 skills. (make falx from 0 skill and youre in the 60-s, but later on you wont get even 1 skill point for making one)

as for exp grind for an mmo without an mmo, I think it isnt a bad concept, youre just not forced online at least. (7 End 5 focus build) I reached 275 smith and it seemed a bit bugged when I put the skill, for the legendary.

Bringing back the trainer skill and giving lords a decent amount of it by default would be a start. Cap it to an extent similar to the perk that provides fast progression for tier 1-2-3 troops.

Well, everyone but me is running around with peasant/recruit armys... so cant say leveling troops up is to easy. apparently its still very difficult for the ai. maybe the missing perks which give xp to troops in your army over time fix this, but fighting defenseless armys all the time is preeetty boring

Blacksmith xp is a function of the cost of the finished item. 1/10 the cost = xp

So it should be one of the easiest ones to get to 275 since you can make some wildly expensive items. At 7 atr + 5 focus its like 700k xp for max level, so you need to make 7 million in value of items. Not unreasonable when you are making items work 50k.

This isn’t suppose to be a game where “the game starts at max level”. Quite the contrary. It’s not meant to “grind” out levels at all, just constantly reward you for participating in certain activities. This is a mentality that many players are gonna have to adjust to, and hopefully TW doesn’t cave to the “race to max level then ***** about the plateau” gang that always shows up.

Most of the stats just need to work more as intended, and certain stats like Bow, Crossbow, and Scout need to imitate the others and give you more broad application bonuses early on, ensuring you don’t feel like thematic chooses during creation don’t get wasted

I want you to right now go record how long it takes you to make some xp in 1h/2h/polearm skill. Get a good average for it going. Record it for good measure so you can prove to the forums how quickly you do it. Im interested in the raw xp you make, so it'd be your xp gain/learning rate. Do be sure to get a good average, so record jumping into the game as soon as it loads, record your current xp + skill level. Play for 30 minutes or an hour and record your finished xp + skill level.

Then take that number and divide it by how many minutes it took you do to that. So now you have xp/minute. Now I want you to take 500k, the best case scenario for lowest possible raw xp you need to gain (and not a realistic number, just the best case scenario if you did nothing but level that skill), and divide that number into it. So you now have however many minutes it takes you to get to max level.

And I want you to find a scenario in which that isnt weeks/months of playing the same save for a few hours a day. I'll be here waiting.

EDIT: I went and did it myself. For 10 minutes I focused as hard as I could to get 2h xp. When the math was done I got 208xp/minute. That's 40 hours of doing NOTHING but focusing on getting combat xp to get to 275. This means you get no other skills, actively avoiding them so you can get that max number. I didnt take prisoners because I didnt want roguery skill. Trade goods are a no no, dont want trade xp. Gotta make sure you dont get stewardship/surgeon/extraneous skills so you dont put focuses on them so they cap out early and dont work against you.

I do mean nothing but it. Chasing every group and fighting them. Being as ballsy as possible ignoring if I might get hit because I need that xp as fast as possible. Ignoring every quest, trading, every other part of the game. Playing normally that number is going to be WAY lower. Like I said, weeks or months of playing a save a few hours a night to get to max combat level. Its just not reasonable. The campaign map is over far before that. Hell, the campaign map is over BEFORE 40 HOURS! So even if you did NOTHING but focus on that combat xp the game's over by the time you get it.

If this stays this way I will not upgrade. E1.0.10 feels great to me. I don't want ultra fast XP, weak forest bandits and no way Tom conquer and keep a town

The curve for XP is ridiculuous. You will never reach 275 without mods or cheats. Mid-200's is only halfway to 275, just fyi.

In almost 1000 days in the game I was able to find the most powerful armor from the empire, the only one in the world, cost around 1,000,000 dinars (I don't know for sure the price but it was an exaggerated price). So the conclusion would be that the weapons will start appearing after more time and I think it may have a connection with the character level.
