Ron Paul is a farce, he claims to be 'libertarian' when he is pro-state involment in several areas.

He's a ****. **** him and his cultists.

The best sounding Repub in the election running is Jon Huntsman.

Um no he says it should be up to the state not the federal government. All he did was say that he was pro life by principal and the entire Gay and pro abortion community goes up in ******** arms about it. Giving the state the authority to decide these things does not infringe on civil liberties.

Because it;s getting the establishment involved when it;s an extremely personal issue.
It's hypocritical if not farcical.

Glad he is about as likely to win as the secessionist Rick Perry.

Marriage is a legal issue as is abortion. Has been for a long time. So in actual fact he isn't touching the current system he is just removing federal constraints from the states in deciding the appropriate legalities of either.

It amazes me how touchy people are on these two piss ant civil liberties while the legality of torture and uncontrolled foreign wars is a null issue.

Pro-state involvement in what though?
Abortion and most other civil liberties. =/
It'd be nice if people would quit demagoging the abortion issue and actually admit that a person can hold a principled libertarian position on either side of it, based on when one believes that life/personhood begins.

And what other civil liberties are you referring to, exactly? The only halfway valid civil liberties criticism of Ron Paul that I remember hearing involved immigration policy. And he's repeatedly explained that his stance on that issue has to do with the welfare state, rather than immigration itself. Even if one doesn't agree with that stance, I think it's a bit of a stretch to call it "hypocritical if not farcical."

Maybe because belief != fact?

In which case your beliefs are irrelevant since there not factual either.
Maybe because pro-choice people have actually taken their head out of their arse long enough to find out what abortion actually is?

Ron Paul is a doctor and has been present at previous abortions in which case he is just as qualified if not more on the issue than you. Stop trying to take the high ground by using utter rhetorical bull-****.

A neighbour of mine was from south africa and believed 'blacks' should work for 'whites' because they're 'black.' Apart from this issue they were pretty decent and principled.
Do you see the problem here?

Yeah your using an idiotic analogy as rhetorical idiocy. Demanding that someone change their belief or principles even though their not even advocating to enforce said principles.

You seem to have virtually no understanding whatsoever of libertarian ideas and principles. And everyone knows what abortion "actually is" - but the beginning of personhood is not some inarguable point in time; hence libertarian disagreements on the issue.

Yeah as soon as I found that out I got extremely bored of the subject.

Not so much about boredom as it's about blatant stupidity. Many Americans think Eastern Europe is some kind of a ****hole, but look at what's happening in their own country

Yeah, we got some eighty year old maniac named Ron Paul trying to be president while talking about how we should all be small business hot dog vendors and get a flat sales tax so billionairres won't have to pay so much in taxes. Why can't he just retire with his ill gotten gains and get a hobby that doesn't involve ****ing with people? Cuz he's ****in' crazy that's why and we love that.
