1257 AD Middle Europe

Actually I'm very curious on the Czech soldier advancement tree. Will it be different than the current version?

All troop tree will be COMPLETE diferent! We plane use specific troop tree for: 1) peasant units - recruitable in villages (weakest units, but cheap) , 2) town militia units - recruitable in towns (medium strong units with better equipment) 3) castle elite units - recruitable in castles (heavy cavalry, knights etc...). So, we change czech units too( I am from Czech republic  ).

Since I haven't posted any news of progress for a while now, I want ot give a sign of life, so I'll post a pic of some random armors I made a while back. Like I said, we are planning to make unique armors and horses for most lords, with their own historically accurate CoA, these are a few of the armors crafted exclusively for some nobles of the Kingdom of Hungary.

very cool mod...but archers keep exploding my head.  Where can I buy a helmet with +500 armour please?

Not from all lords, but for most of lords. In Bohemia and Poland was heraldry just in the begining, at which time.  We must use some books and historical sources too.... Hard research.

In the case of Hungary (including Croatia) I just opened the folder in my comp where the COAs were.

Good armors anyway.

Strongest Bohemian families (Heraldry for Csabi):

For bohemia it is all.... If you use some of this symbols, so use it withouth heraldry shields, helms etc. Only heraldry symbols, as on you new hungarian armors.

Great!
To the  Z Hazmburka COA: can you identify which was their original COA the rabbit or the boar head?

Are the polish ones ready? I have seen many COAs in Rus xiii mod.

Boar was first. Zajíc z Házmburka mean in czech language (Zajíc) rabbit   But he was paradoxly very brave knight. To Poland, polish heraldry may Csabi use from 1257 AD improved mod for warband. Of course as Inspiration, but this heraldry are realistic. If you wish help, look at page 11 in this topic and look into Polish Lords list, than you can see which lords heraldry we need.

Like Sir Robin, the Brave?
Than Csabi, you should take only one boar head in the case of Z Hazmburka. That's really a 13th century CoA. Shields with 4 parts is a later style.

In the case of the Vítkovci : which colors did they use? Is it known? The Hungarian Póki family (if they will be in the game) had one rose COA, too.

I can ask Polish history fans but I cannot guarantee they will do the research.
So if you have a similar list like your Czech one I can ask them if they are OK or not and ask for the missing parts.

Znakomita robota! Rozumiem po polsku niezle, choc niepotrafie pisacz! Czytam bez trudu!   To your previous post, Vítkovci was strongest family just after Premyslides. This family was named Lords from the Rose and use 5leaf rose as family symbol. Combination was red rose in white (silver) shield, gold rose in blue shield, blue rose in red, blue rose in red, white rose in red shield etc. Oldest version was red rose in white (silver) shield.

I take it as yes.   And it came in my mind google can translate the pages.
It was only 10 minutes google search, anyway.

Oldest version was red rose in white (silver) shield.
Great! The Pok(i) family used also these colors but in reversed color order: white rose on red shield.

I think the banners and shields are important the heraldic armors not so much. But I suppose it is not so big thing when the banners are finished.

Heraldic armors are not neccesary for all lords. Polish lords mostly use lamellar, scale or mail hauberk and heraldry symbol was only on the shield. Teutonic lords use Order symbols, and Lithuanian have practically no heraldry yet. HRE and Bohemian lords use classical western heraldry shields, surcoat, horse etc. If we use all existing armors, shields etc., than you need create + - 5 new surcoat for HRE, Bohemia, Hungary and some shields for Poland. That will be enough. We still need much more light and medium armors, not heraldic, just red-white, blue-white, yellow-black combination etc...
