Need More Info 120 player servers - Ping spikes and FPS drop when close to a lot of players fighting at the same time.

Users who are viewing this thread

Sorry for lack of details to reproduce.

- Ping is low when the match is in warm-up mode / just begins.

- Ping seems to be spiking from around 70ms to around 350ms almost as a sine function when lots of combat is happening around the player.

- Usually starts happening half way through the mission and persists until the end. However sometimes seems to go away and run smooth towards the end of the mission again.

Additionally
- FPS drops significantly when around a lot of player agents (~20) -> Siege / TDM
- FPS does not drop when fighting with lots of AI agents (~100) -> Captain mode

Please post any details you can quantify / relate to in-game events we need to help developers track this down!

You need to give more information like pc specs, your connection (LAN, WLAN, bandwith), game version

It seems like a problem on your end rather than with the game. Sieges are more taxing than Cpt mode is, bots are very well optimized.

Version: 1.3
Computer Specs
:
OS: Win 10
GPU: GTX 980 Overclocked
CPU: i7-5820 Overclocked
RAM: 16GB
Motherboard:MSI X99S SLI PLUS
Storage Device (HDD/SSD): SDD

I don't think its just client side graphics based, My FPS: pinned at 59.95 (seems to be the limit) in MP
And fps is high until the lag hits. And like i said always high in captain mode. Only drops in TDM or Siege

Could you run the speed test here: http://speedtest-ams3.digitalocean.com
If you are playing on EU, select AMS3. For NA, select NYC3 and for EA, select SGP1.

Thanks for reporting. Your connection seems fine. Server performance can cause this kind of issues. Do you happen to play with other people from LA or somewhere close by change? Are they having similar issues in the same game?

No one in LA, but have one more data point from Northern California (San Fran) having random ping spikes up to 250 ms, with starting ping at around 80ms

Not sure if this makes any difference but I ran the test probably half dozen times during different times of the day and the lowest it showed was about 170ms

When I was first inspecting your test results I thought 76 was average and now I see that it is actually 198. I am sorry about that. 200 ping from US is not normal, I am getting 130 average from East Europe to same server. Could you contact your ISP about this please? Or if you have access to a decent VPN, you can try it to see how number changes. Since 2 nodes right before the server chose not to respond I cannot see if your ping gets high before our server or at our server.

No worries!

Here is some Data:

Tried playing a quick TDM game on the 100 player server, can confirm feels A LOT smoother. Waiting to test Siege, hard to get into a game these days.
