Please, add your own reviews, be they large or small. I plan to write my own review for most of the factions, and will begin again as 117 comes.
When you review a faction add a score out of ten, which describes how much you would want to play this faction (1 being always dislike/downvote this faction, 10 being always like this faction and will always vote for it if unhappy with current setup)
This thread will help people learn about the different factions, and offer a place for players to discuss what they like and don't like about the various factions. I write from my memory and don't vouch for any of the facts in this thread; indeed I welcome corrections. I was playing last night and took some screenshots, so here is the first installment of my reviews:
The Gauls and Germanic faction is a lot of fun to play. They have 4 types of character; Gallic Skirmisher, Gallic Cavalry, Gallic Warrior, and Breton Warrior.
The skirmisher has the option to take a bow, but it is not as strong as the bows of other factions; and this suits the mixed-melee style of this faction. I didn't have much time to play with the cavalry as it didn't suit the map or style of the players this time around.
The Gallic and Breton warriors play somewhat similarly to each other, but the Breton has less heavy armour and is thus a bit faster. Both classes have great melee weapons that are a lot of fun to play with, and decent shields (though not up to Roman or Greek standards).
8/10. This faction is a lot of fun to play. The characters available make it difficult to focus on one strategy the way other factions do, but make it more likely to survive without strategy; these guys are great at the skirmish and the melee engagement. I would like them better if they had access to better throwing weapons, as well as a few more classes for variety. A high-damage low-armour type troop would seem fitting to me, some sort of two-handed specialist.
