Did anyone else watch 1066: Battle for Middle Earth. I can't decide if it's worth watching part 2 tonight. Please discuss here.

I thought it was quite good. Acting was a bit suspect, but otherwise a decent attempt to portray history.

I'll be watching part 2 anyway.

It would've been easy to take out that viking on the bridge. That first spearman should've easily took him out.

Yeah i realise that but that guy who was playing him was really slow. I'm sure the guy back in 1066 was a really skilled fighter but that man could've been easily killed. They could've made the actor seem better

All the acting was painful.

The Vikings having that made dash run to the bridge was a tad silly to watch too.

Yeah. I think it was just a bunch of crappy re-enactors

I found it quite good, of course knowing roughly how it happend in real life helped a bit, one thing I dont understand though...

Why did the vikingr leave the bridge and back away? Surely it would've been easier to hold the bottleneck and buy more time for reinforcements...

Ah well, GO LEOFRIC!

That's what the big guy was meant to be doing but when he was defeated the saxons pushed them back

Heres what happened
-The vinkingr knew they were outnumbered and couldn't beat the saxons without reinforcements
-They chose a champion, in order to buy time for reinforcements, to stand against the saxons that came one by one
-The saxons killed him by means which i'm sure you know
-The vikingr had no idea when the reinforcements were to arrive and were forced back
-When reinforcements did arrrive most of the vikings were already dead and the reinforcements weren't in a fit state to fight

I was watching Ashes to Ashes, I caught a bit of it on 4+1, liked the Devil's Whore more though.
I taped ashes to ashes- gonna watch it tonight. The Devils Whore was quite good though

aye, but you it didnt show any fighting or any pushing back of the vikingr, it just showed the English advancing over the bridge then the vikingr backing away, as far as I can remember. I did like the vikingr champion though, but to be honest the English could've killed him easy, especially the spearman

This pretty much.
Edit:
As to the man on the bridge, any big guy with a shield should have been able to shove him off but twas still aiite. Also, I'm assuming the man would have been armoured in the real thing otherwise an archer would have been an easier solution than a spearman under a bridge.
2nd edit:
I wasn't too fond of the whole "The Vikingr was the mightiest warrior" **** but at least it helped to get across the point that the Norsemen were mainly warriors wheras many of the English were farmers.

Just finished watching the second half, wasn't too bad if I'm honest. Worth watching, but not more than once in my opinion.

Okay, I came to this thread thinking it was some pisstake on Coltegan's 1066 mod. I am disappointed.
