I propose:
1. a journal
It would be marvellous if the prices of goods in different towns would be recorded somewhere. The same journal could for example tell where you can hire what mercenaries, what trader has how much money and such stuff.

2. a waggon
The player should be allowed to buy a waggon which must be pulled by a horse (or some slaves) and which would expand the inventory. This thing should slow down the party a lot.

3. hacking limbs away!
It'd be fun to devour enemies and to have own people running around without several limbs after some battles. The player shouldn't lose any. (or it could be disableable option) Or the head could be hacked away for an instant kill. It would make the slashing weapons a bit more useful.
Alternatively the player could lose limbs, collect them after the battle and get them patched back by some doctor.

4. multiplayer
Just arena battles. Don't know if it's possible. Most probably it was already proposed.

5. an 'official' editor
for map and stuff.

6. guilds
I could imagine something like morrowind where you do quests for to get higher ranks and thus for example the possibility to hire certain special troops.

7. female armor models
selfexplainary.

8. custom battles
like the ones in the 'total war' series or like the arena in DBTS. Just instant battle without the need of starting a whole new game.

9. make bows weaker
Being armed with a bow should give a malus in close combat, as currently the archers are more fierce then the fiercest axewielding ... guy in close combat (when they don't have any other weapon to which they usually would swap). Arrows should also stay in characters, not only in shields.

10. donkeys to ride
as extremely cheap horses. Wouldn't be very useful in combat, but still it would give a Sancho Panca/Lame Gudzack feeling.

I just didn't want to start whole 10 topics, so there's only one, whaddya think?

1. Cant say i like the idea but it wouldnt be a bad thing. There are mor important things though

2. I agree, i would love wagons in the game

3. Not my cup of tea

4. There will be no multiplayer in this game, that much is for certain

5. Wouldnt be bad, mod tools are coming with the next version

6. Not sure if that would fit, as it seems that people want to become landowners in a medieval style world, not guilds really.

7. Good idea

8. I would like that, if its possible

9. I disagree, bowmen are well balanced as they are, organised horsemen will slay them.

10. No need really is there, just make more horses.

1. Sounds good. Though you should have to visit all the merchants first and gradually gather your information. Maybe scribe attribute to determine how much and how detailed you can make the info.

2. Been suggested. Weight could be counteracted by horses. Good idea that would make economic model more dynamic. Anyone played Eve before? Cargo expanders.

3. Would be terrific fun but might tax the system. Definitely ned toggle option.

4. Common request but no multiplayer in this version as said many times.

5. Being worked on right now

6. Could be nice but look at Mag7 if you want more quests.

7. Look at plate armor. Looks like a corset for crying out loud.

8. Arena is sorta your ticket.

9. Bows are fine. Xbows are a bit strong when massed but this matches well with reality. Arrows do stay on the body. Gratifying to pass by a guy with one of my arrows sticking out of his eye socket.

10. Might be cool. Maybe use them as pack animals. They would serve admirably for that purpose but be trash for combat.

Not so hot on this one

Nah. Sounds too weird. Plus it wouldn't be good for the age-rating.

4. multiplayer

Already stated it's not gonna happen in M&B

5. an 'official' editor
for map and stuff.

Could be useful, but I rarely spend time editing things, so couldn't think of wide-scale implication of it

6. guilds
I could imagine something like morrowind where you do quests for to get higher ranks and thus for example the possibility to hire certain special troops.

I like this one too

7. female armor models
selfexplainary.

Again, wouldn't like it myself

9. make bows weaker

Don't think this is too bad in the game at the moment

10. donkeys to ride
as extremely cheap horses. Wouldn't be very useful in combat, but still it would give a Sancho Panca/Lame Gudzack feeling.

Nah

They're all interesting suggestions but the most immediately interesting is:

Custom Battles

Allowing us to simply decide who, how many, and where we fight would be a welcome addition for many people.

Is it crucial? No, but it would save time and allow experiments with different troop types and battle plans (to the extent that we need plans anyway).

The Arena is no substitute for a custom battle since the featureless terrain, enclosed area, random assigned weapon and maximum three man teams make it very different from the combat battlefields.

As no one's forced to use it, a gamer's like or dislike isn't crucial. There are plenty of people who'd rather play skirmish games than official campaigns, and plenty who'd rather just fight a battle of their choosing every now and then.

3: Devour enemies? Ok... cutting limbs off would be great, but only when you die. because you aren't going to run around with your arms missing. You'd die of bloodloss in a matter of seconds. If you managed to get a bandage on you'd still be dead, because soldiers probably aren't given tetanus shots in Calradia.

And putting limbs back on? Heh, hardly ever works well these days, imagine it happening in medieval times. I can already see a guy connecting nerve-endings and all that ****.

4: Why can't any of the forum users read the stickies that say 'Multiplayer:NO ****ING WAY!!!'

EDIT: I'd love custom battles, and if a ton of scenarios were added as well.

See where you're coming from - Could be interesting but not a priority from my perspective.

Agree. Waggons & muletrains should appear on the battlefield too imo.

I'd rather see the wounds affecting characters and death throe animations than severence style limb flying.

Come live the dream in the multiplayer sticky. http://taleworlds.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2424

Battle map editor: I'd really like this although I struggle to see a point to it at the moment. Yes it would be good to download each others maps etc, but without custom battles to play 'em on. Pointless.

Campaign map editor. This would be really great for the modding community. Glad to hear it's on its way.

Never played Morrowind so don't know. Sounds quite cool though.

If you give the option of playing female, you have to do that don't you?

DBTS? Did I miss something? What's that?

I made my second post about just this subject - essential from my perspective.

Bow stength seems fine to me. Agree that arrows should stay in body. Missile troops should have back up weapons in the arena though.

Actually I kinda like that. Having a level 50 master wandering round the map on his knackered donkey teaching river pirates their manners at the point of a whirling staff sounds very cool to me. Of course you'd need a spirited warhorse and a full set up black armour in your inventory too

Agree with everything except making arrows weaker. They should be the same strength but armor + armored horses should have armor bonuses vs arrow and bolt damage. Also there should be a charge/sprint that only works going forward so Bowmen just don't run backwards all day kiting troops off.

I agree with all the suggestions, exept making the bows weaker and perhaps the guild thing, I dont think its suits the game very well.

And putting limbs back on? Heh, hardly ever works well these days, imagine it happening in medieval times. I can already see a guy connecting nerve-endings and all that ****.
That's when you go and consult your local magick healer!

7. female armor models

I agree with this, it is quite odd that your character's breasts dissapear when wearing anything other than a dress. Then again, this is the only game I have played that allows a male character to dress up as a woman, clearly more games should offer these kind of choices.

By the way, I am not a pervert for making a perfectly sensible and valid comment, so don't roll your eyes at me. If you find the mention of breasts offensive I suggest you get out more.

1. I allready have one. it's made out of paper and i keep it next to my laptop. i'm not against a journal in the game itself but i think it would only become usefull if the storieline gets developed much further. so far the quests screen together with a self made map with notes on it and a little notebook work just fine for me.

2 i like this one. very nice if you want to do trade caravans and also just plain cool. but one point, if you have the inventory skill at 2 it allready becomes useless. you just can't buy that much salt. and try selling it all at zendar. the inventory of the merchant and the smities will be full quickly. and it isn't an atractive option for storing loot of your enemies because a party going for a fight usualy isn't willing to give up on the map speed. but i still like it a lot.

3 it's cool. but there are other games more suitable for this. m&b is more of a rpg like game. to much gore will mean a higher age rating and keep the focus of of the gameplay and story. i think it will also be difficult to put in at this point. i'm not completely sure on that but if it is then there are other things more important.

4 NO NO NO everyone would love it but it's just NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

5 is coming

6 nice but that would mean adding a complete new part to the game about learning a craft. guilds could play some role in the storie. but i don't think we will get the lumberjack skill or metal working skills and the likes of it. think of the workload for those poor developers. the game won't be finished for another 10 years!!

7 yes yes yes. i'm 100% up with this one.it also a lot of work as new graphics should be made for almost all clothing. but it would be very great.

8 nice but for me not a high priority.

9 i think bows are well balanced as they are now. but if you feel this way, it's easy to mod them so they become weaker. and arrows do stay in the body (ever seen a guy walking around with a javelin stuck in his head? i did  )

10 it would be fun. they could also be used as a cheap way of carying goods. (for the map speed) that could be changed into spare food in an emergancy.

This is the best suggestion out of the 10.. M&B's trading system seriously needs things like that to make it worthwile

Think of Freelancer's comodity recorder:

when you right click -Salt- a window appears indicating the next:

Rivacheg - 500 gold - highest known price
Zendar - 470 gold
Uxhal - 300 gold
Salt mines - 60 gold - outpost sells these goods

Towns could appear on your list after consulting with the town's merchants. the better your merchant skills are, the more goods could be priced...

example: after visiting the town of suno and consulting with it's local merchant, the price on smoked fish, tools and spices in suno are now recorded in your... uhh, list.

I disagree. Most armor is bulky enough that it will disguise a persons physical features. A few custom made suits of armor may fit the wearer well enough to reveal their gender, but for the most part, armor was not custom fitted and so would disguise the body features that distinguish women from men, i.e. thiner wastes, widder hips, and breasts (generally speaking).

Since M&B is a more realistic game, it should not have the types of female armor one sees in fantasy games, i.e. armor that from some inexplicaple reason reveals the wearers midrift or thighs.

I'm not asking a platemail to become a corsette when put on on women (like it is with imperial armour in morrowind), but mainly the (foldable) clothing should look different. Would you say if a guy puts on a female dress it wouldn't be possible to disguise him from a real famale? Same with leather armor for ladies.

Devour enemies? Surely you jest. I hate my enemies so bad that I wouldn't even feed them to a dog. As far as the comedy of watching soldiers who are blinded or dismembered I just don't understand the fun of that.
