Is the hassle of keeping 10 companions happy in your party worth it in your opinion, can it even be done for the duration of the entire game?
You have probably seen the diagram below showing the relations between companions, blue arrows representing mutual likes, and the circles visualizing mutual dislikes, i.e. Alayen dislikes Marnid and Nizar, Nizar dislikes Alayen and Firentis. There is an even number of heroes in each circle.
If you want to avoid any dislikes you can pick 3 companions from the small circle and 5 companions from the big circle, by simply skipping the dislikes next to a companion on the circle. There is a total of 4 different combinations of conflict free groups.
Curiously there is also a way to pick a total of 10 companions, who each have exactly one guy they like and one they dislike : (Alayen, Nizar, Beheshtur, Katrin, Matheld, Ymira, Bunduk, Rolf, Artimenner, Borcha) They need to be all recruited rather quickly, to create this balance as well as kept happy by avoiding running from battle, failing quests etc. Presumably the four nobles (Alayen, Rolf, Matheld and Beheshtur) also would need to be made lords in quick succession before they become disgruntled, then at least Marnid can be recruited to replace the nobles in a remaining conflict free group of 7.
The speed at which money is spent on training troups is basicaly the only limiting factor for the player's military might in the mid and late game, and this speed is determined by the combined training skills of high level companions. Having 10 companions and 4 nobles among them is a way to min/max the game, to make the most out of the possible.
But this is all largely hypothetical and in need of some evidence! So, have you guys pulled it off?
