I'm not sure if this is even possible with this game engine or if its been discussed...but has anyone looked into forcing NPCs to only fight 1 on 1?
Usually as I'm sure most of us have seen, in an infantry only battle you'll have two masses of bodies running at eachother into a GIANT heap, swinging wildly and usually if you run into that mess you'll either come out on top or you'll die because most of your swings hit your own people, doing nothing in the long run. Is there a way to tell an NPC to "target" another NPC (or the player if they're closest), and if another NPC approaches, it will either back off and scan for another NPC to fight from the opposite faction or, if there are no other NPCs nearby to fight, then and only then will it engage in 2 v 1 combat.
Just thought I'd throw it out there...if this was possible it might make battles spread out some, making them look like actual fights. The only other alternative I've seen to this is just putting my soldiers in a line and keeping them that way, forcing the enemy soldiers to fan out to fight my guys.
