Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I tested out discarding an absurdly expensive crafted weapon with this new stewardship perk active and it gave over 20000xp. Perhaps consider a limit on how much xp any single item can give because otherwise it's just a tad unbalanced atm.

I've been informed that there is already a limit on how much XP player can gain. The bonus XP can only be enough for every troop to level up one time. When this happens, there is a red text that indicates this and a tooltip that explains the details.

In my experience it's very easy to produce multiple expensive 2h crafted swords using just wrought iron and iron if you have the right recipe. Hence for less than say 1,000 denari worth of materials you can take 50 recruits to max level. The cap does work so that you can only advance the recruits to the next tier each time but if you craft 10 - 2h swords you just spend 2 on the first tier, 3 on the 2nd tier and 5 on the third tier to reach 4th tier troops super easy.
 
+1, this has ruined the game for me in this build as i can now always have all troops maxed out (especially as smithing still allows infinite money). You should prevent any items in the player inventory providing xp when added to the looted item list - the idea of this is to choose between xp for troops or cash for the pocket anyway...
