Resolved [1.5.7] Cannot Keep the herd when I choose to keep the herd in "Deliver the Herd" quest [.sav]

The option to keep the herd can be chosen, but the herd is still removed from my inventory, I get no reward and fail the quest as if I stole them, but I don't have them!
Just load this save and deliver the herd to iron monger NPC and choose to keep them. If there's some detail I'm missing let me know. I've had this problem before so it's not new to 1.5.7 stable.
