[1.5.0] Couched lance is broken

I haven't found this issue in the bug report section or in the known issues list so now I'm posting this with a video of my own as well:



The issue becomes apparent when someone runs away in the opposite direction, in that case the lance can just bounce off doing no damage even to a peasant.
 
It is not a bug. The feature is working. The damage values and/or the design of the feature is something else.
 
But the hero is doing the couch lance when you press X. Boucing off is something else, not working at all is something else.
 
The damage values might be wrong, the bouncing off might be not on purpose. The expected behaviour is pressing X and making sure couch lance is working. These are different issues/areas.
 
Couch lancing is quite risky and hence difficult, you can easily get shot while doing it and you need to keep a straight line. Compared to just stabbing it is way riskier, also couching is way easier to dodge.

So in 1.5 I started couching, it was a low armoured pub, I was on full speed and did 85 damage. Then I couched one more, 40 damage, 43 damage, 110 damage,

2 problems:
1. Inconsistency, I really cannot rely on it doing enough damage to make it worth it.
2. If I ram a spear through someone without armour at full speed it should be an instakill. Couching is risky and should be made worthwhile over stabbing. Insta kill might seem OP but IMO it really isn't, if someone gets couched at full speed in skirmish they made an error or were not working together well enough.

So what I suggest is make it more consistent and give speed a higher bonus. If someone is travelling at full speed and manages to couch someone that should be rewarded. If someone is just travelling at the speed threshold make it 60 damage or so, but at full speed it should be an insta kill if it hits in the head.
