1.2.0 Sturgia

What happend?
Patch notes have no mention of Sturgia

Terrain and weather maluses affecting cav and archers. So indirect buffs to Sturgia. Cav won't win autocalculation as much.

Also it takes longer to siege in rain and snow, which helps Sturgia more than anyone else.

Some of the changes to AI behavior may help infantry further, we'll see.

Sturgia will likely still be the weakest faction, though.
 
Honestly though Calvary is already kinda trash so idk why they had to add a bunch of nerds for them.
P.S. make Sturgias noble line infantry!

Autocalc and actual battles are different beasts. Cavalry was "destroying" everything in autocalc (so, most of the battles).

No clue about the played battles; I thought they made cavalry take into account the weapons' length. Are they still not hitting regularly?

Targeting will be a buff for them, though. You'll be able to target archers without your cav running straight into spear walls as much.

So cavalry is improved where they suck, and nerfed where they were kind of stupidly overpowered, since cav being the recipe for winning autoresolves was quite silly.

1.2.0 Cavalry are beast.
They finally are able to target horsemen and not the horses.
Previously you could grab a 2H and charge in the middle of a cavalry formation taking no damage.
Now you either go down or get dismounted.
Big if true, I always used cav to distract or chase down enemies when they retreat.
Looking foward to using them as actual damage dealers

They're insane,man!
And the A.I strategy,I think,changed too,they don't anymore charge at enemy cavalry just for them to charge the infantry,afterwards.
Nah,they pull back and chase the enemy cavalry or wait in reserve.

Previously you'd see your entire cavalry units dying because of the A.I stategy.
 
While it is much better now, the AI is still using its cavalry units poorly. My cavalry units usually perform much better than the AI’s ones, even when I am just doing an F1+F3.

The AI cavalry units usually do weird moves like cancelling the charge when they are really close to my archers, or stay cavalry units engaged in melee instead of cycle charging.

AI is better now, but it is still loosing favorable battles against the player, especially because using cavalry poorly.
 
PLEASE give sturgian shield infantry shoulder armor, heavy axeman has NONE and heavy spearman only has any on one of its two varieties. There is no reason ANY unit shouldn't have atleast some kind of shoulder armor

sidenote, why the hell do vlandian banner knights only have a heavy cloak? and vlandian T5 cav has none as well...

sidenote 2, the more I think about it the more I remember stupid things wrong with troop equipment that just doesn't make sense, I just need to make my own mod for this or something, its insane.

I made my own mod and oddly enough I find that I much rather troops go without much shoulder armour.

They look too big and gaudy more often than not. And it looks more aesthetically 'Dark Ages'.

If you use the massive pauldrons sure they can look too gaudy, but things like the legionary harness, the vlandian pauldrons, the leather strips, there are so many options that aren't giant sheets of metal, there are only a few that even look "gaudy" at all. A lot of the Aserai come to mind when I think of gaudy but I'd say that's the point, tbh the new Aserai armor is pretty solid compared to how boring it was before, much more stylized and distinct aside from their boots and gloves.

What's your mod called? I'll take a look

I hate the new Aserai stuff tbh. Its all too Ottoman and out of place. And when its all the same gold colour its dull. The Arabs had very colourful gear, dunno why TW could not use that instead.

As for my mod, link to it in my signature. It's a sort of revision of whatever TW had for Bannerlord, plus things I think are cool like a Baltic faction, Makurians, and all that.

Its not out yet, but you can get a testing version on github via discord.
