I don't know if I can play this game any more...

It use to be SO smooth and SO much fun to play, I love this game....but now since the 1.123, 1.124, 1.125 its become very jerky....the screen stutters on the map and in battles.

Am I alone here?

I really hope this is temporary...

(I've tried messing with several graphic options, but that doesn't seem to help...its something about the new version?)

It should've been fixed in 1.125.
Try turning v-sync off in the configure menu before you start the game.

mine also has serious moments of jerkiness (only on certain battle maps or sieges(Halmar for example) as well but this is after a long while of playing...quiting and restarting solves that which means theres a cache empiying problem or a memory leak involved.

the next thing im notuicing since 125 is that when i go into anything...its takes about 2 to 5 seconds for the proper textures to load up and before it was immediate and didnt show me the map for example until the texture was properly loaded. now it shows the map all blurry and then the textures load.....or same with sieging....i see a blurry castle to siege...then come the textures for it. this is happening also in tournaments or arena or anything that needs loading

speaking of Halmar:  the siege is so bad there none of the npc's make it past the ladder whether im defending or attacking it....I wonj the entiore siege from with all my players on the ladder still. they REALLY need to smoothen up the transiotions or add more ladders etc cuz they are constantly getting stuck in so many places.

I play with both 1.113 (TW's version) and 1.125 (Steam version) on the same machine and I think, unlike 1.113, there's a micro lag just before all animations in battles in 1.125, as if the game pauses for a moment to process something else. This affects both SP and MP.

Not only that, all dialog screens are noticeably slower than 1.113, plus some odd flickering in inventory & merchant screens especially noticeable when you drag and drop items. Also the game crashed without an apparent reason for the first time today while quick saving.

please post your system specs with your bug reports to the bug tracker.
and please let me know if forcing single threading and disabling loading textures on demand does not work.
thank you.

Hey good news!

I tried turning off:

'load textures on demand'

(then on my nvidia advanced control)
-Threaded optimization- off

And it feels smooth again! I'm going to play finally...

(I don't really know what to do about all those other advanced settings...)

^ Turning that off worked for about 10min. until I joined in a tournament and it became as jerky/laggy as ever. This is really frustrating since I have an 8800 GT 512MB and 3GB of RAM. The game used to run 45+ and now I can't even play it.

So I think it is ok now except in 1st person when I'm turning on the horse at the same time turning for a shot with the bow....the bow is well within the left side, but jumps and stutters graphically...anyone else?

Do any of you agree or identify with any of my observations and speculations detailed here, regarding the changes to the visual turn cap? I've been suspecting it to be at least a factor in the recent complaints of "lag" or "stutter".

It does really seem to be something about the turning in the new version...I also think it is really noticeable when in 1st person on horse and the horse it turning and you are also turning your view at a differtent rate than the turn of the horse.

That link was to the bug tracker right? You think I should mention this there?

Also, why did they mess with the turning? Was that to make it more fair in multiplayer? If so, that really sucks.

Thanks

I noticed something, I was an beta tester, when I had the first versions I ran Warband with maximum graphic settings and it worked fine, but since they added Havoc engine (or physics) it worked slower. Now I'm running on DirectX 7 only because of that, I can't see any features from that engine. I reguest to remove that Havoc engine.

Sigh... Ragdolls anyone? Anyways, if you want to see it further in action, change the following.
插入代码块:
#assign '1' for moveable physics on all scene props; no sokf_moveable flag will be needed
disable_moveable_flag_optimization = 0
You should be able to push/kick stuff around. That or you need to spawn a havoc box scene prop in edit mode.

With 1.126 issue persists for me.. does anyone notice improvements on his system with this patch?

I've the feeling this problem is there to stay. What i don't understand is why they decided to implement havoc physic exactly ? Someone already whined about the lack of physics or having smooth fps ?
