1.011, Steam and Import/Export

As most of you who bought mount and blade on steam I was annoyed with the update totally screwing up my game. I know about downloading the demo as a temporary fix but I opted to do something else. I wanted to start a new game but the same character. So I went and clicked export. It said character exported. So I get out of the game and start a new game. I go through the character build section and then I click on "Character" and go to import. When I tell it to import it says file not found. Now am I doing this wrong or should I shake my fist as vista as well?

Is you name the same as your previous character?

When I start a new game I use an alternate name.

Change your character's name to the same thing as last time, then try importing.

So just to confirm. Go to my old game and press export. Exit old game. Start new game. Name the character the same. Go through the character build process (meaningless). When the large map appears go to character, stats, import. And i should have it?

Yeah, remember you only get your gold and stats back.

You can also click your name on the character page to change your name after importing.

also which i found out, it would appear that the characters appearance has gone, simply change it back to the skin he had before, change his haircut and beard and you should have the same looking character
