Recruit
I have 2 quests (collect a debt and two lords for peace), both with Lord Mleza.

Since I can't persuade Lord Mleza, I have resorted to bribing him.

When I bribe him to pay his debt, that quest updates.

When I speak to him again and bribe him about the "peace" quest, he
takes my 7200 (big bribe), gives me 3500 and the quest does not update!

My save file

Here are the two quests:

And here's after I bribe him for the "peace" quest (the debt quest was already done):

Have you tried talking to Lord Naldera? If you have collected the debt from Lord Mleza the quest is still active, you have to go back to Lord Neldera and give him the money. Then the quest will be completed. And hopefully the "collect debts" quest will be removed and you can continue on the "make peace" quest.

Its bad that you lost money though... If you want your money back you could always cheat... I mean, since its a bug I think its ok to use a cheat to get back the money you lost. I can not remember what combination you use to get 1 000 denars with cheat, but its fairly simple.

If this does not work then I guess failing the quests will remove the problem, but not fixing it...

Yep I'm just going to have to travel back and forth the land a few times.

I'll look into that cheat to giving me back the money Mleza stole from me !

Edit: Enable cheats via config menu, then when in inventory screen press ctrl+x for 1000 denars. Travelled for a day to reach the lord for the first quest and he's gone off into Khergit lands! Fah!

I don't know yet - he's deep in Khergit lands and they attack me on sight! So I'm going to wait until he returns. I have like 14 days before the quest times out, so hopefully I should be ok.

Thanks for your help!

If you have a castle or city that you own you could store your entire army there, then you'd be fast enough to run away from the khergits. But if the Lord you're seeking is in combat when you reach him and he is about to loose he would probably loose and you can help him. But, he might also try to escape from that battle, so you could try to stick around a bit, and if he breaks out, sprint up to him, talk, and then bolt the heck away from him and save your own skin.

Thanks for your help, stygN!

I ended up letting one quest expire and cashing in on the other, then King Yaro.. asked me to go help him on the front lines against those aggressive Nords... and the whole quest chain was forgotten in a frenzy of sieges and large battles

Love this game! It feels like an MMO, but without the idiots (just one)

Hehe, no problem at all : )

However, I am rather convinced that the quest would get fixed if you could have talked to Neldera.

But now its all good right? You failed a quest, no harm really, and lost some money, but you got that back by cheating a bit?

Case closed I guess.
