I was sieging Nelag castle, and saw an archer above me. So, I jumped up(Don't know why) and tried to hit him with a vertical swing. I was suprised when I hit him, through the wall! It was the tower to the left of the castle as you run up the ladder that he was on, and I was standing on the wall. Explanation?
 
That is not a bug it is a part of the game that has not been changed for awhile, and if you don't like go to the privy council and suggest them to put barriers on the walls for weapons.

Uh, no. This is a realistic combat simulator. Not a friggen Call of Duty medieval style rip off. If you could hit through walls in real life, then why did they bother with walls? :???:

It's a bug. You cannot shoot through walls, but you can hit people with melee weapons through walls.
 
Once someone shot at me so i jumped up and i clearly saw the arrow went under my feet but i still recieved damage. Is that the same sort of problem
 
Yea, sorry Mabons, but Strategyman is right. It might just be something nobody ever got around to fixing, but it is definitely not a bug, as anyone can do it.
 
It's the hit boxes. The box was probably outside of the wall (or at least a small part of it) and when they collided...obvious.

Same with the jumping arrow thing. Your legs went up visibly, but the hit box probably didn't move.
 
I don't think it's the hit boxes. I fight a lot of sieges with my 2h sword, and I often find myself standing on the tower, swinging through a metre thick stone wall, killing and maiming the people behind it.

As it's obviously intended as it's been left in the game even though it's an obvious flaw, it's not a bug, but I would still like to see it fixed.

It's also annoying when you shoot arrows over a fence, only to see them stuck in it, except they're not stuck in the fence; they're stuck in mid-air 15 cm above the fence.
 
I agree totally. It's not realism to see a sword go through the wall. Equally annoying is the fact that arrows get stuck in mid-air. It'd be nice if they are fixed
 
And what about arrows that stick into stone walls? It would be cool if the arrows break if they touch stone fortifications or that the arrows simply fall on the ground once they hit the wall...

A few days old but anyway... It's not the hitboxes, it's simply a not 'fixed' flaw. I'd like to see that one fixed too, because it would also limit the choice of weapons when fighting in narrow corridors etc. but I guess it's too performance intensive or that an attack could fail too easily because of that. Or maybe it's that the AI can't deal with it. Because all that had to be done is to check if the weapon collides during an attack with anything and if it does cancel the animation.

I don't know what's up with the arrows stuck somewhere in the air.

It does suck if arrows get stuck between fences and especially stairs, but it really is technically necessary(at least with stairs).

And there are much more important things to be fixed and included than arrows breaking when hitting stonewalls...
