I've had this issue before, but with a bandit party. This time, I was managing prisoners after a large battle, and decided to execute three enemy leaders. Coming back to the map I noticed these ghost parties, saved and decided to approach them. Crashed, not to my surprise.
This is odd, as this does not happen every time. I also noticed that the two lords to whom the parties belong could be released as normal prisoners (before I executed them), but not the third one; not sure if this matters.
