I hope that in both MP and singleplayer; imperial cataphracts get to use a Paramerion style sword.
Really? I never saw it in any videos, but glad to hear they put it in.@AmateurHetman ,The Paramerion are already implemented in the Imperial equipment since the beginning of the Alfa-Beta.
Slaves... bought by powerful states who trained them and provided them the best arms & armors. They often became so powerful that they finally took the power. No, the mamlukes don't need those fancy golden shoulder plates. They were slave soldiers, do you think slaves could afford such fancy armor? And I actually prefer the current look of tribal warriors. They look like adventurers/merchants by wearing those robes.
I am not sure I got all what you said. Anyway early feudal knightly look is original and different from the other factions, so no need to get inspiration from the 13th century again. There's not much different and original you can do with the Vlandians. Either they'd look like the Vikings, or they'd look like Medieval Knights in plate armour (depending on if you went back or forth in time for inspiration), choosing the time period that was chosen to be inspired for the Vlandians allows for Taleworlds to make them stand out the most amongst the other factions in the game. And besides, it does look good and will look better than the Swadians in Warband, aswell as being the second least anachronistic inspiration that could have been chosen.

EDIT: Ok I just realized they changed the MP armors, and that my two fav Aserai classes have been wasted (veteran and beduin).
Ok. And I disagree, 8th-11th Western Europe isn't less interesting aesthetically for the game. What I meant to say was that the chosen time period for inspiration for the Vlandians is the least anachronistic and makes the most sense for the games overall aesthethic.
Am I the only one that feels like the Battanian Clan warrior looks too 'jacked'. It makes his head look small, considering how beefy his body is.
+1 for Berserker tattoos! I suggested this in another thread a while ago, glad to see it represented (I still prefer the current trousers rather than the exposed legs). Since, I now consider it to be a great opportunity to display the Clan/Realm Heraldry on the Berserker. The unit could have a tattoo of the Heraldry on the torso, similar to Vlandian Knight's Armour or most shields.Hi There.
We need these so badly.Hi There.
Just found this thread lurking around the forum. Very interesting indeed. Just to "cultivate joyful creativity" decided to fool around a little with the much discussed Berzekers/Ulfhendars for Sturgia- basing on the screenshots found in this tread (the very first design I saw in vids and pics from the beta was a bit to "cliche" imho while the new ones are a bit to- can't find right werb- "common looking" let's say for such units, personally would imagine them with more "wild" ). Maybe they came up a bit to "low fantasy" with slightly exaggerated tattoos and stuff (especially one with wolf head and chainmail mask; ) but ..oh well.
P.S. Personally not a big fan of wolfhead fur on warrior's heads- but if slightly more subdued, and perhaps on 2 or 3 out of 10 warriors (not every member of unit) perhaps it can be acceptable, in the background enclosed an image from vendel period' s helmet bronze plate in my defense- the historians of course not sure if it's mythological creature or ,as some speculate- the ulfhendar warrior image ; ) All in all- if it comes to arms and armor (especially in SP) the more the merrier as they say.

I am happy with the current design. We need these so badly.
most of sultan's wives were from europe though, so wouldn't it make more sense for her to have whiter skin color?
