Very quality stuff recently people! Benjamin Bones, i even read your "Fire in the Dark" with the intonation of "Jenny of Oldstones", and i enjoyed it very much, top class !

Damn, Benjamin, I feel your pain! This poem must be ringing in all of Calradia's hearts. I am not complaining, though... (I play as a Khuzait  )

P.S. And I am here, just like last week, waiting for the stable e1.4.1 to get out of beta. All of that just because I want to have my men climb the siege towers and ladders, just like they are supposed to. I am starved, deprived of Bannerlord, while I wait for this update, and yet I am too stubborn to join the beta. I hope and pray that this Thursday will be the day, when my men will climb the ladders properly... any ladders will do...

Skolderbrotva

The cold days are short and the long nights are dark
When the winter winds slam against the icy bark

The Brothers sing no songs and revelries rarely done
Beneath the northern sky and its bright heatless sun

Frigid is their steel but colder is their blood
Their shield wall never breaks as they rush forth like a flood

Blood stains the snow that trails from battles fought
Axe, spear and shield are looted but never bought

The dark death birds swirl and crow as they walk
The hungry wolf-packs sneer and follow as they stalk

The Skolderbrotva come for battle and for gold
And for the highest sum their valor will be sold!

Mercenary men filled with pride and with skill
The Shield Brothers stand and roar with each kill

Hacking and slashing and cracking of skulls
When Skolderbrotva battle there are no time for lulls

Fierce and savage is every single blow
Where the fighting is thickest is where the Skolderbrotva go

The deeper the danger the greater the prize
Outnumbered five to one and still the Shield Brothers rise

Death in battle is no price to pay
In fact, each Brother prefers it that way

The Skolderbrotva come for battle and for gold
And for the highest sum their valor will be sold!

oh how have i missed this ?! <3 Really well done so far Bards...*Applauds and bows with standing ovations as he tries to find some denars in his dry pocket realizing hes now broke, emptied by wine and lost dreams..then goes back to sleep at the table*

A lot of people have gripes with the "Neretzes' Folly" quest in Bannerlord. Chasing a bunch of different lords around Calradia to get their perspectives on the Battle of Pendraic certainly doesn't appeal to everyone. Personally, I found the varied accounts of what happened that day intriguing. In fact, I found it so intriguing that I decided to seek out as many lords as I could in order to chronicle their accounts... And create this:
Neretzesā€™ Folly

It was a long and weary road up that fateful wooded path
Who couldā€™ve known that the silence was just the quiet before The Wrath?
The stream beside gurgling was the only voice in the woodland song
No birds were chirping, no animals were stirring, none had yet noticed that something was wrong

Haroom!!! Twang! Twong! Throom! Out of the trees - arrows from every direction
The vanguard was caught! No time to run, no time to think, no time for circumspection
Shields went up and bodies went down, Imperial blood soaking into the ground
Men dying, soldiers crying, rent leather and flesh: a savage sound

A shield wall was formed and the Legionaries moved in tight
Arrows rained down like sun rays on a glade, nothing to do but fight
But shields only block in one direction, the arrows came in five:
From above and the sides, front and behind - none were meant to leave alive

The rush of arrows suddenly ceased but out of the forest spilled worse
The Imperials began to break - like seeds in the wind disperse
Garios screamed: ā€œForm up! Form up! Nowā€™s not the time to balk men!ā€
But the force was dwindled, Battaniaā€™s fire was kindled, and now came charging the Falxmen

Garios and some soldiers fled into the trees trying to escape the carnage
ā€œThat fool!ā€ Screamed Garios: ā€œNo archers with the vanguard?! Such pitiful garbage!ā€
Safe from harm - Garios looked at his comrades covered in grief and gore:
ā€œNever again shall we be led by an Emperor who knows so little of war!ā€

Clan Tigrit and Clan Khergit - the pride of the Khuzait
Rushed forth swiftly on their horses, for there was no time to wait
The Aserai with shields and light armor also rushed to slay
The Cataphracts joined and soon the shooters lay dead, but then there was much dismay

For first it was a mumble, then it rose to a thunderous rumble
Soon all hope that may had been suddenly began to crumble
Haroom!!! Went a distant horn blast signaling there were more to fight
Glittering steel, warhorse and lanceā€¦ They braced for the Banner Knights

Like a rogue wave they came slamming into the enemy
The reinforcements barely held on, many dying contemptuously
The day was lost and it was time to flee, a cry: ā€œRun for your lives!ā€
Rang up throughout the woods piercing ears like knives

Both sides were spent, broken and bloody; they all retreated back
Hurunag of clan Tigrit couldnā€™t believe what had happened, nor this brutal fact:
ā€œOur scouts told Neretzes an ambush was laid, why did he stumble on through?ā€
ā€œSuch a fool, such a fool!ā€ He thought as his incredulousness grew

The wooded path was littered with death but still the ambushers came
Emperor Neretzes and the rest - retreated to their camp - cursing the gods by name
Those left behind had yet to be maimed, but the Wildlings soon saw to that
Heads were hewn and somewhere in the heavens the gods looked down and spat

The Sturgian Prince - Vadinslav - was hot on the Emperorā€™s heels
ā€œI have a thirst! Bring me their skulls! Show them how terror feels!ā€
The Imperials made it back to their camp and turned toward their enemies
Every Legionnaire looked toward the sky and thought: ā€œOh heaven please!ā€

The Sturgians rushed toward the ramparts and climbed the barricade
Hacking and slashing - Prince Vadinslav thought that he had it made
When suddenly an Imperial mace met squarely with his head
Brave, ferocious Prince Vadinslav lay motionless - instantly dead

Seeing the fall of his Prince - Olek the Old let out a mighty roar
ā€œKill them all! Kill them all! Stick each one like a filthy boar!ā€
Then he swiftly felled a Menavliaton, four Legionaries and three Recruits
The rest of his men were spurred on leaving their foes in bloody suits

The torrent of blue continued on - hemming the Imperials in
Olek yelled out: ā€œThis is not the Empireā€™s fall, but itā€™s a good place to begin!ā€
An Imperial commander Arenicos saw that the day was lost
With his men he ran; he couldā€™ve saved the Emperor but his life wouldā€™ve been the cost

With the Dragon Banner thrust up high, Neretzes held hope on a thread
His men rallied to his side - those of course that did not yet lie dead
Clinging to life his men fought on with brave tenacity
But the battle was lost, a terrible route, far beyond their capacity

The final rush of flesh and steel collided thunderously
By the tumultā€™s end Olek looked down and smiled wondrously
Neretzes lay dead with the Dragon Banner still clutched in his hand
Olek snatched it up: ā€œWe are victorious! The Imperials could not withstand!!!ā€

ā€œThe fall! The fall! The fall of the Empire!
Feel our strength! Feel our steel! Feel our ire!
We come! We come! We come to take ours!
You are no longer our liege we are the new powers!ā€

In unison, Olek and his men rang out this refrain
Filled with pride and relief and a little bit of distain
Olek the Old then looked around and saw Raganvad - much to his chagrin
He whispered to himself: ā€œThis is not the Empireā€™s fall, but itā€™s a damn good place to begin.ā€

Have been thinking about making a Bannerlord vault of music where modders can freely take tracks to put into their mods and make suggestions if they want something specific. HavenĀ“t finished anything yet, but IĀ“ll share something IĀ“ve been working on. You can find it here.

You already made those awesome themed soundtracks, and that new one sounds no less awesome. ?
Neutral, new, medieval OSTs for all the different occasions would be a great thing to have, for the base community and modders alike!

Thank you! I've been wanting to contribute to the community for a long time, but my modding skills are non-existent so this is my way of contributing. Cheers!

A little something right here:

Death of an Empire

Horns no longer blare with power and glory
The Ravens circle death - the epithet of the battlesā€™ story
Unity shattered as the veil of fidelity is exposed for its lies
The great people of Calradia see the beginnings of their cultureā€™s demise

Borders are blurred and lost as the barbarians rise
To the east the sound of hooves accompany arrows that blot out the skies
Swift as a winterā€™s wind and twice as harsh
The nomads from the steppes trample all from mountain to marsh

The heat of the southern sands is enough of a deterrent for most
Here the tribes slay imperials that the desert has yet to roast
Though home to the Aserai the Nahasa offers little
And in this symphony of carnage, the Sultanate will not play second fiddle

The cold winds are always rising in the northerly regions
From frigid to freezing are the gamut of the seasons
Neither Nord nor native - the Sturgians are fierce
With the sword and the axe the lands of the Empire they will pierce

Mountain and valley, forest and bog, lake and river
Here death comes silently from the brush out of a quiver
Flying axes and reaving falxmen - chaos constrained
The Battanians will take back what is theirs now that the Empireā€™s been maimed

Destiny is not something that happens - it is made
That which is irreplaceable is the difference between truth and charade

Chainmail and lance and warhorse in a glittering cavalcade
Through blood and death and glory they will wade
With land and title and kingdom they were paid
But the Vlandians want the continent, all else can fade
Can we implement to this to game?

I really like the creative aesthetics thread, but never contributed. IĀ“ll make some music for this thread. In the meantime, IĀ“ll share two fanmade themes I made for the Khuzaits and Empire some time ago.

Your empire theme is better then the original, the current Khuzait theme in game is better however :p
