spears bad

As a new player I was excited to get in game and use one of my favourite weapons, the simple spear. after playing about 8 hours and all if ever done is charge on horseback at looters, the spear felt.... meh. Surely a horseman charging a guy with at best a leather or cloth vest would do...

I think the arena would be more enjoyable if there was an option to fight without archers. When I go to the arena it is mainly for melee combat, not to get shot in the back by archers that spawn in every five seconds or so. Also can melee A.I prioritize killing archers like in the first game...
