This is something that may come in mods but, there is the ability to toggle icons above your allies heads in battle. I enjoy having this off as it looks a bit more cinematic but, it would be useful to have a keyboard shortcut to put them on for a moment distinguish between allies and enemies.

I updated to 1.0.2 and now all the item icons and troop icons in shops etc. don't show up anymore. They look like they're loading but they never do.
