IIRC in Warband you could "hire" patrols that dealt with local bandits and raiders, and kept the settlement's territory safe for villagers and caravans.
It would be nice to see that feature return, as bandits and looters are affecting the economy severely, and Kings/Lords shouldn't have to...
Is it just me or AI is very eager too paint the map their color? In 6 hours of my 3rd playthrough I already had the map divided in half by Battania and Southern Empire and them being at war with each other. If there are no rebellions game becomes much less fun when there's only one faction left...
Now that the workshops have been driven into the ground with the new patch that just came out I'm desperately looking for alternative options to be able to afford my 1000 dennar party. Has someone tried caravans? are they a good source of income?

On native 1.171/1.174
Initially it was in mod that I do for myself.
Post factum I recognized, that there is caravan trade in Floris Modpack, but works different than mine.
It's not tested in the long run, but seems to be ok.
