  1. Custom soldiers

This tool will be great for you; take a look at it. It has saved me a lot of time in the past. Working fine in 1.7.1.
Howdy, might be a necro but pulled this thread up during my search. Does this tool work with giving smithed weapons to units with my little warband?
  2. SP - General From playing long games. 2000 days ingame so 2nd generation is in play. Bit ranty/salty

I think that the game is fairly forgiving in terms of different playstyles. I like to get to mix it up a bit, between engaging in the constant battles and warfare which allows for battle related skills to grow, and hanging back and building an elite army to garrison in my town. Some players really prefer to not lose a single top tier troop in battle, understandably, I have found the game is best when not worrying about losing ground and troops, going through multiple armies rapidly, gaining/losing fiefs. Gaining towns for a while can be beneficial to increase relations with the recruiters for future use, then letting it be lost or giving it away to not have to maintain it. I found the game much more enjoyable when I played it to its strengths sandbox style, never reloading a save and just going with the flow.

However, the constant declaration of wars definitely feels off, with what feels like an average of 3 days in between wars of my kingdom or the kingdom I'm in not being at war. Usually we are at war with at least 2 factions nonstop. I also appreciated what Warband did, with lords refusing to join armies for various reasons. While it did handicap kingdoms especially the ai to an extent, it added flavor to the flow.
  3. SP - General Bannerlord's Gameplay Has Gone Backwards In Multiple Areas From Warband

I agree with the overall fact that you are seeking to rectify, the fact that Bannerlord feels like a bland sandbox compared to Warband. While I am not looking for this game to be Warband 2.0, many of your suggestions are what made Warband so memorable and fun. The devs do seem to be focused on overall balance and stability as well as gameplay features at the moment, understandable in my opinion. Warband also has 7 years of patches. It was released in 2010 and the last update according to a quick check on steam was in 2017.

All that being said Bannerlord has a lot of room that could use improvement in, the unfortunate aspect that some of the most memorable features tend to get either loved/hated, and pleasing the entire community results in something bland, which is what seems to be happening. I, for one, enjoyed the previous escort merchant caravan and extortion by deserters quests. Some of the new quests are definitely new and great, such as the spy among us.

Claimants/Civil Wars, Strategic command dialogue, In-depth Courtship.
These would be the biggest features from Warband that I would like to see get carried over and implemented.
  4. SP - General From playing long games. 2000 days ingame so 2nd generation is in play. Bit ranty/salty

Like many others, I have experienced the same gameplay, with wars constantly raging, and little incentive to play past my next generation. I have noticed some changes as Bannerlord is patched and balanced. Perhaps the addition of "global holidays", where all of Calradia is at peace for a certain amount of time, as well as higher ranges for prosperity (which currently seems to have little effect on AI lords), much lower prosperity for nations/holdings constantly at war, and vice versa.
  5. SP - General Clan Tiers/Reputation - Perk Tree

Hello all. Alternate Post Title - Yet another clan tier thread Anyone looking to debate/contribute to the idea of a clan system, with an action based perk tree. First, having the clan gain/lose renown down multiple trees based on actions taken, based on the clan reputation. Say the clan is...
  6. SP - UI News feed tabs

+1 supporting this, Warband had the game log UI screen that would allow us to open up all recent feed messages to look back over.
  7. SP - General Fewer Female Lords in Battles

I am going to support this, not just the fact of too many female lords running around, but that any lord can raise an army. The game balance in general, once the warriors armies fall in battle the 30 lords sitting in castles all create new ones. Not that I disagree with that completely, but a trait/role based system with lords assigned as governors/ ''stay-at-home" pregnant wives makes sense from a normal, reality based sense, and also one from the general time period the game sorta follows. This helps with the massive cluster that tends to develop later in the game, as more lords are born.
  8. [BL] Post & Find Mod Ideas

Great post, I have no experience or time to make mods but I have lots of ideas.

First, it would be nice to have a true polygamy mod, one that would allow me to Genghis Khan my way to victory by eventually making all the lords in the game spawned from my progeny.

A more involved mod that covers much more ground would be the addition of something of an 'end-game' invasion of Calradia by a new, outside force, much like the end-game crisis's from Stellaris. Have it set to trigger possible once one of several conditions have been met, such as so many in game years have passed, maybe a post main quest after the Dragon banner 'questline' has been completed, or the destruction of several main kingdoms has happened.
I am imagining a new faction invading from the lands between Aeseri and Khuzait, with a new city or several revealed beyond those lands, with large armies consisting of higher tier units then the rest of the factions. Perhaps a faction based on India/Siam, complete with, drumroll, mounted war elephants. Not the LOTR out of proportion size, but appropriately larger and fearsome, and able to mount a couple of archers on its ranged mounted tree line. I think this would add to the playability and a new level of difficulty and complexity, along with a new area to conquer.

Lastly, a mod adding slaver caravans, ala manhunters from Warband. Acting much like regular merchant caravans, but attacking small bandit and noble parties possibly, as targets of opportunity, while following a trade route. Add in player interactions along the lines of being able to either
trade with them, buying and selling prisoners, possibly recruiting some of their party "Mounted sledgehammers of doom, anyone?', or attacking them and freeing their prisoners into your party, for a relationship loss and giving them lease to attack your parties. In any case, they could make for a new source of quests, possibly adding in a few from towns to seek them out and have a certain prisoner released, much like the ransom daughter quest. Or even as a source to obtain the elusive sword sisters, *wink wink*.

My apologies if I didn't follow the exact post guidelines, got a bit carried away with describing what I think would be interesting. Happy Modding.
  9. Mod idea collection: I want this mod.
