    1. this is advantage for player not npcs. If npcs can have caravans and workshops i have less problem in lords going bankrupt issue. Because these are very important income sources. Lords not having these assets is not my decision. I wanted some npc lords to have caravans workshops also. However it is not wanted.
    2. they get only 25% of their party size as free troops when they respawn after escaping from captivity this will reduce 10% soon. this is very minor advantage. If party size is 100, currently they get 25 troops free soon it will be only 10. 10 x 100 (average troop cost) = 1000 after each spawn, this is very minor in all economy. You can examine tables I shared how important 1K is. If you ask "if it is not important why you give 25% troops at respawn" answer is to save lords at their first day otherwise they can catch by bandits on their first travels after respawn.
    3. they have predetermined set of armor / weapon and it is stable, player do not have to spend huge amounts on his armor or weapons to get extra +2 +3 because he is only one troop, effect of this is not huge in battles. These are only money sinks. Also player can kill 20-30-40 people on a battle but ai lords cannot do this. I want to see they can also do but this is mission ai team's area I cannot make improvements at this.
    4. this is not true, they also spend gold in peace treaties which is done between npc clans (for example if vlandia in a bad situation in a war vlandian king pay gold to make peace with another npc kingdom).
    5. this is not true, they also get negatif relation.
    6. this is not true, they pay garrisons.
    For #2, In my opinion, the option to buy mercenaries should be available in every town (it could replenish like troops at settlements)... it should just be more expensive than the normal route of regular troops / training them yourself. The AI could just wait around in town buying mercenaries / regular troops until it has 15-25 troops and is stable enough to explore the map again. Have a clause that they only buy mercenaries if very low on troops.

    Also, to add on the army building front... if you could make it where any combined army you are in that goes to a city buys half of what they need on entering, and half on leaving, that would be great. It's rough to try to refill your own army when they buy everything immediately.

    @mexxico for the armies starving... have you considered having the leader tasking lords to run food once the army hits 70% and still has high cohesion - maybe lords they didn't originally invite to the army? Or, if they are dangerously low (40% food, plenty of cohesion left), they could maybe spend influence/double gold cost to have a mercenary faction or caravans bring it? It would be a really cool addition to see supply chains like this, especially during sieges... and it gives those smaller nations a way to fight back... and more mercenary objectives/quests.

    Also... thank you for the detailed response... Please don't let people getting upset put you or the team down... especially those who are immediately outraged. We are all just so excited about the potential this game has, and so I think some people let their emotions flow. You guys have done an absolutely amazing job on the game, and your continued push to make it better has me believing this will be one of the greatest games ever made. Absolutely amazing work.

    I fought villagers next to their village. The villagers won and I was captured for a few days by the village. That village got raided by my own faction and it caused a crash to desktop.

  11. SP - Quests Wounded troops should not be available to send on missions

    There seem to be some changes to this in the 1.1 beta. You can send a wounded troup member but it doesn't count towards the total. Also there is a meter that fill s up (can't remember if that was there before) and it seems like they might be adding some kind of strength requirement as well. At least it seems like they are working on this.

    This is how it worked before actually. The meter will fill up as you add troops and you can't click done if they don't meet the requirement (e.g. "Must be at least level 2 Troop"). The issue is: you can add wounded troops (it always adds wounded first in a stack of wounded/non-wounded) and the wounded troops don't add to the strength even though the bar fills up. You can't click done, as seen in the image below. Once you do add enough non-wounded troops, I am not sure if it takes them on the mission, deletes them, puts them back in your party, or what.

    I'm up for it. Also it would be helpful if you are able to command the units during the battle (also if you help peasants during an attack), they always dash towards the enemy and get slaughtered. In warband they were under your command as far as I can remember it.
    Yeah, I can understand if you're a nobody not getting to command them... but as a Lord, definitely should be able to tell them not to be idiots.

    Randomly generated names for those in the tournament, rather than just the troop name, would make it more immersive. To keep the ability to gauge skill level, mark each attendee with a rank based on their skill, e.g. "Novice", "Veteran", "Champion"

    I thought about 7 situations in case you win a tournament against a champion

    1. The champion and everyone congratulates you
    2. The champion is impressed and wants to join your clan
    3. After the tournament, someone comes to congrats you and tells you to join him to a feast in your honor, you follow him but it's a trap. They try to kill you or just threaten you.
    4. You are attacked in the streets by the gang the champion is in
    5. The champion tells you that it is he's job and he needs it to survive. if you win against him again you put his family and himself in financial danger. winning against him again and you lose honor unless you give him money.
    6. you sleep in the city and during your sleep you attacked by an assassin hired by the champion
    7. you are invited by the campion for a drink, he offers you a lot of money is you lose willingly in a public duel.

    Some more:
    - One of the tournament contestants marvels at your skill and approaches you afterwards, asking to join your warband.
    - A gang leader is impressed by your skill and asks if you'd like to provide him some muscle.
    - A lord comes to you, asking if you would be up for a bit of provocation against your neighboring nation. He wants you to attend X tournaments in their land, flying your home coat of arms and provoking the crowd. Once finished, this should provide a very small push towards declaration of war.
    - A peasant comes to you, pleading for help with a problem in his nearby village. He has come looking for someone to train the men there, and you have proven yourself a worthy candidate.
    - The arena master takes notice of your skill at arms and charm over the crowd. Good competition will lead to good profits. He asks to sponsor you, paying for each tournament appearance in the city for the next month.

  16. SP - General [Suggestions] Armor Material Type

    Simply adding a "+1", since I agree that it would be nice to have different damage and armor types, and the idea of trumping. You can see this is an issue when you are getting easily pelted to death by rocks while in plate.

    An example would be RPG systems like The Riddle of Steel, Song of Swords, or Sword and Scoundrel.

    Doesn't that bias what gets included here towards more controversial threads? Most people don't post if they simply agree or the main post encompasses the idea fully (beyond the occasional "+1" comment). I would think that majority of the best suggestions are those that aren't controversial and generating a ton of back-and-forth.
