    Yeah but that won't make anything better after 2 months, when I give the game a try again I'll notice the same issues.

    I can understand everything, slowness, bad design, bugs, lack of PR...

    What I don't understand is who makes the call on prioritizing development? Seriously who orders developers to implement inner castle siege defence while sieges are completely broken in first place?

    Attackers can't climb siege towers, because defenders are blocking ladders by climbing down on them, pardon me how the hell can this happen lol? Nobody in TW noticed how stupid it seems and how urgent it needs to be fixed?

    AI pathfinding? I mean really? Enemy soldiers passing each other because they're so destined to follow their path? Um we were here to fight not dance?

    Blobbing infantry? How does that make even sense?

    I'm starting to lose my hope and I think they have a huge organizational problem.

    I've also noticed there's no backhit in Bannerlord unlike Warband.
    In warband if your swing touches anyone from behind, your hit wouldn't go further, here no matter how tight the formation is you can just facehug anyone with 130cm 2h sword, I was bringing short weapons for siege to avoid it, just realized it's pointless to use short weapons since there's no backhit.
    That also explains how AI kills each other in matter of seconds even in this clustrfck, simply cause physics do not apply lol

    I love the "cyclical" dusting off of problems from behind the shelf. Not that I'm any kind of guru, but I've been commenting on all this since September 2019 on The tactical way: beyond the melee cluster.

    Apart from the obvious capsule collider problems, there is a problem in the AI behaviour that increases that feeling of suffocation or zombie effect; facehugging. Imho, that behaviour should be eliminated completely and by doing so it would solve the serious problem of flickering when two groups of high agent density collide. I truly can say that I have given up on giving more feedback regarding this problem. There are bugs and inconsistencies in the very basics of the game; the combat system and everything that revolves around it.
    I'd accept all the sh*t Talewords throw at my face; lack of promised features, refusing to communicate, joke updates, lack of modding tools, lack of private servers, lack of mechanics, weird AI behaviours, terrible economics, unbalance, lack of perks, poor performance,bugs,unfinished quest line etc. these are all ok in my perspective because yeah it is early access.

    But having the core of the game designed in a very flawed way, and showing no sign of improvement on it, within the passing 9 months is just a huge FU to my face, which is not kind, I dunno what I've done to be treated like that. This is like making a rally game with fcked up physics engine and instead of showing any way of improving it in 9 months, trying to correct how raindrops behave on windshield and working on porting some commands to gamepad because console gamers are dying to buy this game which is unplayable without mods... oh there are no mods in consoles but shhh anyway we believe ppl will buy it like crazy...

    So many wrong goals, so many wrong prioritization, godawful public relation.
    I don't blame developers, those dudes are even more nerd than me, I'm sure they've already noticed these issues but I believe they're being suppressed by their managers, this is a Turkish company, I know how we do in our companies... same **** different assholes... I think devs are being managed by people without any gaming indsutry past, and have less gametime in warband than any of us in this thread. They just focus on selling their product without fcking knowing what makes their product sell...

    I hope I'm wrong and TW is a great and focused company that aware of all the problems but prioritizing different stuff because nothing's better than giving the finger to your 10+ years fans...

    edit: I don't wanna go harsh on Taleworlds, I appreciate all the effort in the game, there's no second to Bannerlord nothing comes close to its potential. I just go into burst of anger sometimes because of how it's being treated, compared to its potential. I wouldn't even care to write in forum if this was an Electronic Arts game or smth, I just can't stand it being directed into wrong path because I know its potential, I've played warband over 2000 hours, skipped my finals to take castles in cRPG extended my University and even learned some basic russian-polish commands to be able to direct an army. Don't take my criticism as nerdrage and please prioritize critical issues, we know you can fix it, we're writing these cuz we believe, don't lose it.

    To be fair - actual medieval warfare was basically a giant bloody wrestling match. Watch professionals fight in this style in modern times;



    There is also a reason the Romans favoured the short gladius; it was the perfect tool for this short range slugging matches.

    I also think the 'King' captured this style of combat in a very realistic fashion.


    Great references also a great movie though I don't think we play the same game because none of the scenes relate to what we have in Bannerlord.

    Let me show you how battles are being fought in Bannerlord:

    Now please watch the videos you've provided and compare both scenes again. Notice people clipping through shields, since there's litteraly no space between people it's inevitable...

    Can you even move your arm in such tight space? Setting aside battling can you ****ing move around at least? This is not how you fight... This cannot be done and cannot be accepted as it's. It's like japanese porn where all bus trying to grind their dicks on the gal, not fcking 700 men trying to fight each other with a meter long swords and spears LMAO the spears.... nevermind I just hope this utter sh"t gets fixed someday...

    How is pathfinding implemented in Bannerlord?

    AI is retarded in bannerlord, neither we nor devs should expect complicated calculations from them.

    It should be simple, first of all Idk how design works for siege but we all agree on there are predetermined spawn points and entry points that needs to be defended.

    First decision to be made, where to spawn the reinforcements, this can be done by sending how many defender/attacker in 50 meter radius of an entry point to function, and prioritize to choose a spawn point that is closer to problematic entry point.

    It can be adjusted maybe you put ratios like %50 of reinforcements to 1st promlematic entry point, %30 to 2nd, %20 to 3rd etc...

    Then AI pathfinding, it should be just directing AI to run to position, with an exception rule "If within the radius of enemy, override running order and attack!)

    End result would be defenders that actually defend instead of 3 year olds trying to figure out how to go to the tower that is not being under attack...

    Devs are wasting too much time and work on putting ideas to soldiers' minds, which contradicts the whole concept of war, a soldier shouldn't think, there are generals and kings to do that, soldier should FIGHT and we're missing this core aspect in bannerlord.

    I don't really know, but i think the paths for each scene are custom made(?) and AI just follow them but they encounter errors along the way, maybe as i said bumping into other units, sometimes ignoring what's happening around them and so on. I saw a while ago a dev response on pathfinding but don't remember when so sry for that.

    Not the best at pathfinding algorithms but what you described might for for small numbers, say a soldier in every position but when you have 300 men bumping into each other's path they end up breaking each other as it happens now.
    When do you see 300 men spawn for reinforcement? Most of the time max defenders are 200-500 anyway... If you play at 1000 agents cap, it means 500 defenders would be spawned already so no reinforcements, if you plan on lowest cap which is 100, defender reinforcements will be minimal and limited to 50 max. If let's say you play on 500 agents cap, then it'll leave 200-300 of these agents to defenders, considering spawns don't wait for all defenders to die, it again won't happen.

    I just don't understand why devs try to make it complicated...

    Entry positions to castle/town are predetermined and limited to:
    2x Siege tower landing zones
    2x Breached walls
    1x Gatehouse

    Spawn points for defenders are also predetermined let's say:
    A
    B
    C


    According to each map's spawn point location's relative distance to entry positio an example logic should be:

    Considering A is closer to Siege tower landing A and Gatehouse ;
    If spawn in A run to Siege tower landing A or Gatehouse, if in perimeter of enemy attack.


    Simple as that...

There's no distance between two guys fighting each other, it may seem irrevelant but when there's no distance between a group of 500 vs 500, it becomes the root cause of battles ending so quick due to morale impact. It's impossible for infantry to land...

    barter with lords to join my empire with millions of gold??

    Step by step guide to overcome this bull****:

    0- Before starting kingdom, have some capital like 300k try to have all passive incomes as possible

    1- Download this:

    2- Go to encyclopedia/factions filter out minor ones, choose the one that has the troop type you need in army also member count is important.

    3-Speak to clan leader and ask them to join your kingdom as mercenery, they roughly cost 4k/day or so.

    4- Declare war on a faction that is at war on multiple fronts or have poorly garrisoned fiefs

    5- Stomp on them with your 1k army

    6-When you take their cities/castles those snob lords will just join you for 50k

    7- Try to get some cities, keep the cities since you gonna need income and give castles to your lords

    When distributing fiefs try to split areas to clans, in other words give clans fiefs that are adjacent to ea.

    Thats what I did, and campaign is going good so far, I've got 3 t5 clans from southern empire army strength is roughly 5k and now I'm trying to deal with overly extended khuzaits ^^

    I have a thread about slider suggestion, it's in my signature please support that. There are examples like Conan Exiles, we should have that kinda customization for singleplayer campaign because why the hell not? Bannerlord is a cow that can produce different tastes of milk and everyone wants to milk bannerlord to their liking, give player what they want please!

    I think you should use a little bit more "epic" musics, I'm sure you will find one without copyright or that kind of stuff. Something like a Two Steps From Hell song. (if you never listened to one of their songs: link) Aside from that, I think it looks really good. You can work on your camera movement though
    Thanks for the feedback actually finding music is really hard they're either too short or copyrighted, i'll check if I can use some from the link you've shared (I loved the el dorado btw)

    I agree camera movements plus adding DoF and some post prod is definetly will be my focus for next projects

    I've already got one in video in the render with some new experimental stuff :grin:, I'm new in this so actually everything is experimental haha thats why i need your feedbacks

    Very cool man, one suggestion I have is black bars for that cinematic movie look.
    2nd one has arrived, I followed your advice and you're right it's far better.

    I decided to turn this thread into a collection of memorable battles in my campaign so as I progress, I'll keep posting new stuff here ^^

    This was one of the longest and close-call battles that I've fought so far, it's decided by the final 1v3, it's a bit long tho
