  1. What's up with hideouts?

    My main complaint with hideouts is the repetitive maps.... more varied maps with more than one starting position would improve things greatly.

    I like the concept of attacking a hideout with a limted party of men, it's just too repetitive as it is.
  2. Female Lords mod

    Why are people so keen on recreating oppression in fantasy? I just don't understand it. Why would you want to, in your fantasy world, ensure that the same kinds of unfairness are present? I invite you to meditate on this question.
    Personally prefer my fictional worlds more dystopian that utopian... having everybody behaving in a reasonable and tolerant fashion all the time does make the reasoning for conflict and the effects of said conflict a little less believable.

    I would prefer it if different cultures behaved differently on this and other similar issues as a way of differentiating betweeen them.

    Assuming they haven't changed since I last played ( a few weeks ago) I like them except for the one when the character gets lifted off their feet by a ranged weapon to the front of the torso, looks unrealistic.... especially when it's something light like an arrow.
  4. Starting age - 18 to 21 is more appropriate

    It'd be cool if there was a choice or two, start young with nothing or a bit older but with better equipment and troops, and maybe older still and with a fief.

    Err yeah I know, I wasn't being entirely serious....


    Anyway... women fighting is at least theoretically possible if not historically accurate, and yet people zero in on this subject while accepting stuff that actually isn't theoretically possible or is equally historically innaccurate... so it isn't really about accuracy.

    But I've said before on other subjects, I imagine the whole reason Taleworlds went for a made up world is so they can change stuff around and not get too hung up on history.

    The game actually has too many men, armies of hundreds being raised from little ten house villages, killed off then raised again, where are they all coming from? :grin:

  7. Character dying,,,what now?

    I recently lost one of my companions who has been through a lot with my character. It would be nice if...
    a) the game made a major effort to tell you rather than just slipping into into, and then quickly out of, the log
    and
    b) if you could choose to maybe spend some money and have a funeral pyre-type scene, maybe some of your high tier troops as an honour guard, all you other companions there etc. and then you can give them a proper farewell. If you are Styrgian then go the whole hog and lay them on a small longship and torch it up with a flaming arrow. ?
    Yeah for me the most annoying thing about deaths is that they are only reported on the easily missed log, that doesn't save anyway. You could easily find that a companion, or someone you were trying to befriend or marry, had gone and died behind your back.
    I had the heroes must die mod before, that gave a better notification, which was optional.
  8. Characters aging 1 year per day in Beta 1.5??

    Do you have detailed character creation? I assume you have it if you've changed your age.
    It's a bug with that mod, I think you have to have the latest hotfix and enable override aging in the mod options as a workaround.
  9. Resolved 1.5 game crash as soon as i click on campaign

    How did you remove it? I deleted the folder from my Modules folder but the crash remains and the launcher still says "community-fix2.2.1".

    It adds stuff in the bin folder as well I had the same issue.
    In bin\win64_shipping_client it adds
    0Harmony.dll
    LauncherPatcher.dll
    LauncherPatcher.pdb
    TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.exe.config

    in modules there's native\launcherGUI\prefabs\launcher\launcher.mods.community.xml

    I've had to bin off quite a few other mods as well to get a game to start though.

    I just came here to report this, same thing has just happened to me.
    Annoying especially considering that I'd be free to attack the lord if he wasn't killing the people I'm trying to prootect.
  11. Player's party auto-moves toward forming army

    I've been having this, I thought it was a buggy mod or something as it only started recently, but I was tutoring a lord for the first time so I guess that could have been it.
  12. Aging, death, and children

    I'm 99% sure it will be moddable, in fact you can already wind your age down every now and again with the detailed character creation mod.

    I like the feature, it's potentially one of the main improvements if they get the family and marriage stuff right. I just think you should start a bit younger, early 20s maybe...you're on a tight schedule to get married, especially playing as a woman.

    I always liked the persistent troop identities mod for warband, giving each troop a name and persistent appearance meant you noticed soldiers that had been with you a while, especially early game when you have a smaller party, it also had a screen telling you how many kills they had got and if they died it told you how.

    Something like that is way beyond my own abilities to program though...
  15. Sexism in Bannerlord

    I don't know... the arguments against any supposedly controversial issue like this appearing in any game always seem to be more from people worried about others complaining than anyone actually complaining.

    I also consider it more derogatory towards men that women.... they are the ones being made out to be arseholes, I'd say portraying what women even today have to put up with is feminist if anything. Besides it was done in a fun way that made playing a female character a bit more interesting.

    I don't think it is too much of a poltically charged issue, I suspect they've shelved it to save time, and may or may not revisit it later.
  16. So, about looters

    Yeah, I defeated some looters and a couple ran away but i was alone and now below 20% health.. They immediately re attacked me on the world map and as I had low health I had no option but to surrender, so essentially I got captured for winning a battle.
    If they've run away in the battle they should at least continue to run away on the map for a while.

    I like the sexism and I'm glad you modded it back in...it added to the experience of choosing a female character, and gave you a reason to get annoyed and fight someone.

    Thing is, if you make your fantasy setting so idealistic that everyone is nice to each other then it does raise the question, why are all these nice people fighting. Games need arseholes :smile:

    My only real opinion on this tactic is that the looters should run away sooner if they find they are doing you no damage and you are killing them at will
    rather than hanging around to be picked off.

    It's always been a way to get cheap renown in mount and blade.
