Rhuarc here, finally trying this mod seriously.

KGB would be a good place for you then.  Most of our members are old veterans with over 1-2 years experience.  We are more laid back on rules and expectations, so if you want to focus on fun rather than strict realism then this would be the place to go.  We are forming up an Iron Europe team to start doing events as well.  Again, we don't really focus on ranks as we do how much fun we have.

Edit: We mostly try to play as russia (best faction in my opinion).  We also do mostly specialist units: cavalry, rifles, artillery.  If you  are more interested in line infantry then, I wouldn't expect you to join us.

Looking to join a cav regiment

I don't know about starting a detachment, but the KGB is an all specialist regiment.  We just started about a month ago and since have not gone line at a single event yet.  We do arty, skirms and Cav, with cavalry as our most popular.  We are an NA regiment but we have some EU and international members.  If you are interested just let me know.  My steam is Mr. Lions, my officers are Madfast and [KGB]Gloomy Lions (contact them first as I may be at work or busy with uni)

Edit: We have a cav event tomorrow night (friday) if you are interested in joining us to see what we are like.

    About Our Officers

    Polkovnik (Col) Vassili

    Short Bio

"I started playing Mount and Blade almost 3 years ago when I was browsing steam for a fun horse combat game.  Shortly after I fell in love with the physics and game mechanics of Mount and Blade.  It's combat style and gameplay is unlike any other game and all the mods make it even more fun.  I was first introduced to the NW community though the original Mount and Musket Battalion mod.  I joined the then 21e and shortly after was also involved in the 13th Sommerset Light Infantry.  I rose up the ranks for my skill in cavalry and became a Captain in each regiment respectively.  It was at that point where I was pushed to choose one regiment or the other.  I was somewhat saved by the release of Napoleonic Wars DLC.  At that point the 21e split into the 48e and 21st Irish.  I stuck with the 48e, but eventually left to lead my own cavalry regiment. Due to circumstances out of my power, I had to disband after 5 months.  Since then I have been in a few regiments and learned new and better tactics as well as made many friends in the community.  I am known by many names: Lions of Bavaria, Vassili, Gladiator and Chauncey to name a few, as was my tradition of changing names when I changed a regiment.  I have now been playing MM and NW for over 3 years combined.  I have racked up over 2000 hours of gameplay and seen the workings of many regiment.  I am confident that I have the knowledge to lead this new one successfully and teach other how to succeed in cavalry and skirm, but also to have fun!"

"I started playing Mount and Musket around 2 years ago, but fairly casually never joining a regiment.I joined my first regiment after buying NW, the 21st Brit. I stayed with them for over a year, rising to the rank of leader of the skirmisher company. After it's name change to the 1teStb, and the leaving of our currect regimental XO I became defacto XO as the 2nd Highest ranking officer remaining. I am bored now and going to get a beer, vassili make up some **** about how I want people to have fun and will train them and ****."  ....Ok, well Madfast is the team drunk and will most often be heard with a beer and fried chicken.  He is very good at skirms though and will teach anyone how to be a pro at shooting and hit and run tactics.

    Short Bio

"A year and half ago during the summer my friend, Madfast, told me about Mount and Blade: Warband and the Napoleonic Wars DLC. He was in a regiment named the 21st Brit. I decided to join him and I joined cavalry. I learned how to play heavy cavalry and became our best cavalryman in a few weeks. I later became the executive officer of cavalry until finally becoming the commanding officer. From there I lead several different groups of men and sections. I have been a leader of cavalry, artillery, line infantry, sailors, and rifles. My favorite and most played is cavalry. I eventually became the executive officer of the 21stBrit and several months later due to drama felt it best to resign. Since then I have been in several regiments. From the amount of time I have played this game I have learned how to lead every class in NW at least decently and have become a veteran player of NW. I can teach any new players how to play any class and how to use it effectively.  I'm pretty laid back."

    Medals and Awards:

The KGB, in order to make up for a competitive ranking system, adds in over 30 medals that can be earned and competed for to add more distinction to yourself.  Each medal must be earned through intelligence and skill.  To earn your medal, you must complete the assigned goal to that Award, and a minimum of three team-mates must nominate you for that Award. Once nominated, the officers will review to make sure the criteria has been met and that the recipient has in truth earned the Award.  All awards are granted through our Team Speak, but members who are active in the forums may display them in their signature upon request of signature formatted icons.

    Our Point System:

The KGB is unique in that we use a point system for deciding promotions and tracking how active a member is.

    24d3dsn.png

Just because you have the points needed will not guarantee a promotion (though it is a high indicator that you will get promoted soon if you fill all requirements of that rank) but it will ensure that no officer is picking favourites and handing out promotions to those undeserving.

So far this point system has been a success and we find that our members have more fun and worry less about who has what rank.

    Komanda Grodno Battalion [KGB]

The Komanda Grodno Battalion was formed in response to an overwhelming number of regiments playing favourites and always promoting melee proficient people over more dedicated and hard working individuals.  Myself (Vassili) and Madfast both agreed that something should be done for those who enjoy...

    Highwaymen Stats

Not going to change. Outlaws are a major problem with RDM already. If they had better stats they would totally stomp any other faction.

    Dedicated Server

    Sydney said:
Ah okay made it. Now i created it but, there is no map setting. I started on an empty map.

Cause you either got to make one or ask to use one from another server. You don't just get a map because you opened a server.  It's just like PW. If you didn't make a map, or have downloaded a public one, then you won't have one for your server.

    Anyone else miss Frontier?

I'm limited with what I can do with a map, and most things have been made the way they are for gameplay's sake.  With that said, I will announce the next map, The Patriot. Pretty much just like the movie but also like a mini Frontier. Map will be smaller so that 32bit players no longer crash.

Denied, I heard what you did to Robin and I do not agree with this childish behavior. If you want a clan, recruit it for yourself, don't go behind the leader's back and tell the members that he quit just to steal people for your own.

    Important informations regarding capturing.

    Erk said:
This is very urgent. All forts have been captured by a faction, so the map is effectively dead!

PS: Since it is not possible to recapture.

And who is to blame for removing mercenaries from the map.....

    [Map]Great Plains *NEW SCREENSHOTS*

    Erk said:
Alright, after extensive playing today, list of major issues of the map:

    1. Most factions can't be captured. Need to fix that.

    2. Most factions only have one oven and one musket stock and other crafting props. This slows down crafting enormously and makes it frustrating and impossible to coordinate (even if you manage to get 5 people working on it, they can't really work together).

    3. You can't shoot at the doors from the fort walls, for every single fort. This is absurd. It means attackers can freely hack the door and sieges turn into camping the entrance.

    4. No more spawning inside a fort. This turns capturing as an attacker into almost impossible. People keep spawning and looting and it takes 5 minutes for reinforcements to join. It is annoying and turns wars into a pointless spawn attacking situation.

    5. Natives are OP. They have easy access to wood and craft much faster than soldiers. A bow is as effective as a musket and it takes 5-8 bows time to make a musket. Need to place wood further away from them.

    6. The map lacks right now much purpose. Factions do not fight over resources or anything else, they could in fact lock down and stay like that forever. Need to give incentives, for instance, fight over iron or something.

This is more general, but for the sake of keeping things together:

    6. Reduce gold drop. It is insane and discourages completely working.

    7. Reduce the crafting time of military muskets and simplify the recipe. It is very painful right now.

    1. That is a mod issue, not a map issue. Only 'normal' factions can be captured, aka the ones I add in beside the stardard forts and tribes.
    2. That is why you are supposed to capture the outpost and north point. Control those and you have control of the weapon factories and more resources.
    3. You are playing on Aldric's version. MY version does not have doors, rather unbreakable portcullises. The goal in my map it to build the ladders and gain control of the guard house to raise the ladder and let your team enter.
    4. I don't agree with spawning outside your fort. It cuts you off from your fort and makes it easier for enemy factions to spawn camp. If this is so much of a problem, make the spawn time longer.
    5. Again, you are playing Aldric's version. He added more trees, don't know why since this is SUPPOSED to be the GREAT PLAINS.
    6. Purpose: hunt buffalos (I guess the EU team is too dumb to listen to me when I say you need to spawn them in since the auto spawn is module broke), capute forts (again broken because of the module, but at least the outpost is there), run patrols and use taxing stations to gain money.

6.1- Again, nothing to do with my map, talk to the server owner.
    7. Yet again, nothing to do with the map, talk to Austro.
