Closing the Game doesn't... Close the Game

Whenever I close the game (or it crashes), the game doesn't actually close on steam so I cannot re-launch the game without restarting steam. Is anyone else having this issue?

    Since Crash Reporting Isn't Working...

Would Taleworlds like us to send them our crashes some other ways? I have completely bugged save files (they will crash in under 1 ingame day when you load them) that were perfectly stable before their first crash, and I never took or failed the army of poachers quest that some people find bug...

Does anyone else get the feeling the game isn't finished yet?

Uhhh I'm not sure anyone else mentioned this but archers are most definitely not overpowered... Especially when it comes to large scale battles. Go into a custom battle and experiment with it yourself. They're strong but they are easily countered, like very easily. If you are getting smashed by them you are either 5min into the game or awful at anything resembling tactics and troop composition

    Bannerlord SP First Reactions: Megathread

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, so there it goes: troops with throwing weapons now try to "lead" their target, so when you circle around them they will aim for the direction you are going to instead of where you are. That is fine and everything, but when you are charging directly at them they now turn around and shoot *behind* themselves, which I find a little silly and definitely immersion breaking. I would suggest one of the two (or possibly both):

    1) Make the leading behavior random, i.e. some troops will aim for the current position, others will try to lead.
    2) Set it so that if the target is close enough they will aim for the current position instead of leading.

    I hope that makes sense!

That said, I am enjoying the game so far. Definitely could use some polishing but the core is there.

And for anyone who was wondering, yes soloing sea raiders is still very much viable
It really counters the kiting people would do all the time in warband though. I got rekt quite a few times because of it hahaha

    Massive Memory Sink?

Yeah. I believe all of the stuttering issues people are suffering is due to how the game is utilizing RAM. I'm sure its something they can fix given some time so I hope it comes soon, I know its early access! Hopefully its a main culprit behind constant CTD's as well

    Save Permanently Frozen/Bugged?

I have made 2 saves so far. I posted earlier on the large thread about my initial save having CTD issues. It seemed to appear in Autumn, specifically 42 days into the game. Once the first CTD happened, every time I would try to play it again it would CTD in less than 1 ingame day. I decided to...

not a fan of the "main quest"

Then don't do it. It provides you with the basics of the game initially and if you continue along it you will learn the rest of the game mechanics slowly but surely. It is a guide for new players to the series or fans of linearity.

    Bannerlord SP First Reactions: Megathread

I found that everytime my game crashes a sound plays right when it freezes. It sounds like getting money, or maybe it's the sound that plays when you get a skill increase (it said I increased in skill just before the crash). I sadly couldn't send this as a crash report as the reporter seems to be broken now. Ah well at least I can play multiplayer until my constant crashes are fixed! Can't make it 1 day in singleplayer anymore without a crash

    Bannerlord SP First Reactions: Megathread

Well guys... I made it past Autumn but the issues consist. Crashes every ingame day. Every 1 day that passes it crashes. I had 1 crash for 3 hours until reaching Autumn beforehand. Kind of sad but I'm sure its fixable.

Trying to force my way through buggy Autumn is extremely frustrating but I'll keep trying guys. It crashes literally after 1 day of the month, or even less

    No Party "Accompany"?

So click beside it to avoid conversation wait for more distance and click it again lmao....
Being able to accompany was a feature in Warband, a very welcome one too. I was just asking if anyone knows if it was purposely omitted or is going to be added in at a later date

Game Crashes over and over again

Any way to abandon quests, if "Army of Poachers" is actually the problem?
Army of Poachers caused no issues for me, although being in the month of Autumn does. I'm going to try and force my way through autumn (save as much as possible) to see if crashes continue afterwards

Game Crashes over and over again

They are actually releasing mini hotfixes! There is even a post for it

    No Party "Accompany"?

You can just click on the caravan to make your party follow it instead of clicking all over the map.
If you are faster than it you will just enter conversation with them, its even worse that way as you'll have a loading screen!

    Bannerlord SP First Reactions: Megathread

I hear a lot of people crashing around Autumn in campaign. Stutters occur more in singleplayer than multiplayer (rip the servers again lol, too many people playing!!). I believe these are things we can see fixes to relatively quickly. I am very impressed with everything else in singleplayer except the lack of an accompany like there was in Warband (so far). Game is beautiful and I'm excited to keep playing

    No Party "Accompany"?

You have to wait outside of where ever you picked up the quest eventually the caravan leaves and you follow it. I haven't had any crashes in the 3 hours I've played so far.
Well yeah, you just have to click around on the map to follow where it is going but you may be faster than it, and it is a hassle to click around the map to stay near the caravan. In Warband you could accompany a party so you'd follow it and go the same speed

    No Party "Accompany"?

Was doing a merchant escort quest earlier and discovered there is no way to accompany a party like there was in Warband! Is this deliberately left out of the game or is this something that is going to be added later? Also constant campaign crashes after reaching Autumn seems to be common with...

Game Crashes over and over again

Campaign map travel in Autumn seems to have a crash rate of 100% for me now! Was having absolutely 0 crashes earlier. Sending crash files every time it occurs though

Actually, weather does affect things.  Don't remember the exact details, though.  IIRC, rain (and probably snow in that extension since they fall under the same category) will affect your crossbows and horse speed.  Maybe bows as well, but I don't know on that one.

Ha, just like having horses in your inventory makes you faster lol.
Wow... I've been playing this game for YEARS and I JUST learned about this?
