    I put companions in a separate formation group, usually Light Cav (VII). Whenever I exit the game and relaunch it later, they're back in the default Infantry group.

    Not that I can tell.. I don't see anything there referring to the player's honor level. In an earlier playthrough, I created a spreadsheet to keep track of "Determining whether lords will complain about other lords getting fiefs". At that time, it seems to me, when my honor was over 100, good natured and upstanding lords had default relationship to me of 30+. It's early days yet, but relationships don't seem to progressing in the same way now.

    Has honor been nerfed in 0.99? I think it used to be that the default relationship with upstanding and good natured lord went up by one for each three points of honor that I obtained. Now in a new playthrough, my relationship seems to have only risen by one with 20 points of honor.

    Double Aracanus?!

    I founded my own kingdom and made Aracanus one of my vassals.  My kingdom got wiped out and Aracanus soon became lord another faction.  Time passes and I found my own kingdom once again.  I send an emissary asking Aracanus to join my kingdom and happily get a message back that he accepts my request.

    But instead of returning as a lord, Aracanus returns to his long ago role of a companion, though he is now listed as Lord Aracanus.  There is no option to ask him if he'd like a fief. Disappointing, but OK.

    A bit later I come across a party of my kingdom patrolling the countryside led by Aracanus! He has a band of 60+ Perisno troops and a few Arcane Defenders. When I talk with him I have the option of welcoming him back (as if he were a companion), or I can tell him I have no room in my party for him. 

    This has persisted for a few in-game months now.  Could be worse.

    They do its all down to wound treatment skill and an element of randomness, try to only have 1 injured horse in your inventory at a time as I find when you have 2 it takes longer for both to heal.

    OK, thanks Brew.  Do you know if healing of my horse is affected by party wound treatment skill, or personal? Because my character has zero skill there.

    I'm having this error trigger, but cannot find either of the strings Leonion describes in the simple_triggers.txt file.  Any advice?

    EDIT:  Ach, I was searching the wrong simple_triggers.txt  Even in the correct simple_triggers.txt file I wasn't able to find the first string, but I made the recommended insertion into the second string and the error no longer triggers.

    Not sure if this is a bug, though it seems likely.  If I stash my Household Guards in a fief, the constable will not allow me to acquire any additional Household Guards.  Once they're back in my army, I can once again acquire more of them.

    Just like eating an elephant, you take one bite at a time.  Duck and dodge and lure a spearhead escort to follow you until they are separated from others then attack.  Rinse, repeat.  If you're marshal, you can handle bigger groups but it's still the same basic principle.

    Each unit gets a rating for range and melee and the max of the 2 is the units final rating. 

    There is no differentiation in mounted vs foot.  You could assume they are the dismounted ratings in some way.

    I wish I could figure out a way to test 100v100 troop fights.
    Seems a reasonable methodology to rate troops, especially for siege effectiveness.  It probably underrates the effectiveness of mounted troops in field battles.  And the situational flexibility of Hired Mercenary and Household troops gives them added value over other troop types as well.

    The logistics of doing 100v100 fights for a matrix of troops like this would be daunting, and no guarantee that the results would be more reliable.
