  1. Resolved A few different crashes involving siege weapons

Not tested during defensive siege. Vanilla game. Custom Game from main menu Switch to Siege mission Click to select Offense or Defense Siege weapons Do not click any weapon Click done Crash Vanilla game, default siege Offensive siege, AI auto-uses siege weapons Press F1 to issue movement...
  2. Units cheering at the "end" of battle but the enemies are still attacking

@ukas2 He's talking about how the enemy will start attacking cheering units. What's more realistic is that the cheering units will stop cheering and defend themselves.
  3. AI Kingdom keeps declaring wars despite loosing on all fronts...

There is an example about epic calculator. T3 wall, very good defenders.

Town have food for 30 days, attackers for 2 days. They escape after 3 days of siege if i join defenders but i have to lose 50% units to break the siege. Epic.
That looks about right. Sieges appear to be approximately 1:1 with only slight variation. That is, unless, all of the defenses are destroyed. I haven't had that opportunity with two matching armies, but it stands to reason sieges will prefer attackers much more at that point. This may not be true for the "Send Troops" option.
  4. Companions stuck in cities recently turned enemy

Companions usually break out pretty fast if they are captured. On the other hand, if they break out then warp to a friendly city, and then that city becomes an enemy, it's extremely difficult to get them back until there is peace (usually waiting months), I capture the city (not easy) or unless...
  5. Prisoners whom are Lords NOT STAYING IN JAIL

Are they actually vanishing or are they just breaking free? The way I see it, it should be as easy for them to break free as it is for me. Usually I don't have to wait longer than a week if I'm captured. Hoarding noble prisoners would make conquering too easy, I think. I do think it's a little too easy for the AI, however.
  6. [e1.1.0] Leadership skill gain for recruiting does not scale well as skill increases

On my next playthrough I'd become a vassal quickly so that I can create an army of my own clan parties and powerlevel leadership. When I'm strong enough that's when I leave and create my own kingdom. Creating armies seems to be the fastest way to progress midgame.
  7. Horse archers are the worst.

If devs make any change to them please make it an option tied to the low combat AI difficulty choice so we can keep their 'useful' 'basic' competence it if we want it.
OP and like minded reader please consider
    1. They already do less damage and have less accuracy because ALL MOUNTED MOVING UNITS DO
    2. AI armies do not obtain or field large numbers of horse archers, they use about 30% or less.
    3. Horse archers are easily separated from their armies and thus can easily be destroyed at the start of a fight.
    4. HAs are easily destroyed by archer formations.
    5. In the original M&B builds players complained about the horse archers being to difficult, so the AI was changed.
As a result the Khergits in M&B and warband are far and away considered to most useless and least played faction.

Agreed. The Khuzaits troop tree is currently my favorite because of how early they get mounted archers. When I use my HAs conservatively and don't charge the enemy like the AI does, they are great for baiting in enemy formations to attack my well-positioned formations. At this point I can destroy armies twice my size (currently have 200 troop cap) this way losing 5-10% of my party, and destroying equal sized ones without losing any troops. I'd have an entire army of HAs to purely skirmish if they didn't run out of arrows. In this sense they are overpowered for players but underpowered for AI. Seems like the right balance to me.
  8. Feeding ally troops

This also works with your own armies.
  9. How to gain Influence

If you have enough money for lots of food you also gain influence by sharing it with starving armies. You have to stay with them for a while. It's actually kind of imbalanced because this also works for your own clan parties, which require no influence to maintain an army with. I didn't know about donating prisoners though, that's great I always have too many.
  10. Horse archers are the worst.

I try to have my cavalry on the left flank in a tight line to block and engage the horse archers. They seem to prefer left flank because they're all right handed, lol. I also move my own archers in front for their initial charge and I let the line rotate even though I hate when they do that. They usually bunch up into their charge so the archer line ends up "crossing the T" and they are usually cut down pretty quick. I also take advantage of any water/rocks/cliffs by keeping that at my left flank as well. Anything to disrupt their circling. Of course, I also spread out my troops as much as I can but it's pretty annoying there's only one default distance for the loose formation. I'm also a horse archer and I aim for their horses because they are easier targets and I usually get lucky hitting the riders. I have no problem with horse archers with these tactics. I definitely need an equal amount of archers or horse archers of my own to stand a chance.
  11. Mounted Archer Perk Is Broken

They are probably already aware of this, but missing this perk is especially disappointing, so bump.
  12. Auto resolve isn't worth it and still sucks

To resolve this, I just started attacking larger groups so that I get more xp for the time sunk into the simulation. Still, I shouldn't have tier 6 troops being killed by looters.
  13. AI Kingdom keeps declaring wars despite loosing on all fronts...

I'm seeing the same behavior. It's pretty disappointing. Can't wait to have my own kingdom. AI shouldn't start new wars if they are losing, except maybe in extreme circumstances.
  14. Resolved Companion bandit camp quest

I sent a companion on the quest to deal with the bandit camp near a village. The quest said they'd be back in 10 days but they have not returned. The quest was moved to "old quests" but I did not get any indication, as far as I know, that they failed the quest. There's no indication of that on...
  15. Need More Info Crash when joining empty server

I have not, I can check. I'm also just more careful about watching to see if the server's emptying or filling. It'd be better if the servers were just persistent and I didn't have to disconnect and reconnect every time. Maybe that's the plan and you're just testing server connections? While I have your attention can I also ask that the rounds last longer than 20 minutes? It takes a few minutes to connect sometimes if the server does not appear immediately on the server list, and 17-18 minutes of playtime is too short before having to go through the reconnect process again. Again, if persistent servers were available this wouldn't be as much of an issue.
  16. Can retreat during a defensive siege, constantly keeping the AI from breaching

I think the retreat button should be disabled for defensive sieges. That seems like the easiest solution. The problem is that if I retreat then fight again the attackers have to start their assault over from the beginning. As long as I have archers, the attackers will be killed standing around...
  17. Need More Info Crash when delegating commands during siege

I was spamming the delegate commands button because it was my first siege and couldn't tell if I was actually in control of the troops or not. When I first did it for archers it said something like "delegate off" a few times before it said "on", so that's why I did it a few times. After a few...
  18. Spy Party Quest

I was told the contender I was supposed to find had a beard, no markings, and a sword. Then I found two contenders who looked identical with the given characteristics. Am I supposed to just guess? Of course, with my luck, I chose the wrong one and no save to revert.
