Takes a really, really long grind to get trading up without the trade experience from your ventures.

I was fairly proud of my accomplishment because I had never beaten Native (got too bored). Perisno was significantly harder to conquer.

I had an army for Perisno Great Knights, Dark Forest Archers, Dragoners , and whatever other elite units I came across. The cities I conquered kept me afloat with about 7-10k profit per week and I used my level 38 with 10 surgery and 10 training to keep up with the A.I.

Eventually it got to the point where I could overwhelm the enemy with training power and units with the amount of money I was getting. I had around 120k in my treasury that wasn't used at the end.

I hope you have high intelligence with plenty of training and surgery to keep up with the A.I. , glorious independence!

I would say that's pretty lucky, but I've never gotten an army from prisoners before so I don't know. I always train my armies.

I recommend that you level up crucial intelligence skills such as pathfinding, spotting, surgery, and training first. I also recommend that you don't get a bunch of recruits at the beginning but rather solo parties that you can handle for lots of money and experience.

There is no wrong way to go about doing things in Mount and Blade:Warband. For my army building tendencies, I prefer high trainer, surgery, leadership skills. These skills let you make an army,
keep an army, and run an army with the weekly wage decreases. Note that I've been playing on realistic saves and with a 130% difficulty rating (except for the occasional game unfairness that I
wish to rectify, such as a 1 man lord out running my army and forcing me to fight 2000 enemy soldiers.)


This shows the effectiveness of the surgery skill with only 7 dead when there are 56 wounded.

The single player of Warband is far from impossible, you just have to find your way, whether it is a high strength and agility build or a high intelligence and charisma build. One thing is certain, you need to level your character up so you can accomplish what you set out to do.

This is my current character. Notice the amount of points I put into intelligence to get all my pathfinding, spotting, trainer, surgery, wound treatment, etc. up to maximum.
The way I started was by soloing Desouk Slavers for levels and money. Remember, trainer, surgery, and wound treatment take priority over nearly every skill! (at least for me)

It all depends on how you do things, you're not going to defeat the parties without a copious amount of mediocre units or a good amount of elite ones. I recommend getting trainer, wound treatment, and surgery to level 10. It helps a lot.

I hope you mean that the crossbows have more range than the bow because they do.

Sadly we pilgrims have to go around asking for contracts. However, many contracts have been completed.

A lot of the pilgrims live in NA, so we usually want to play on the NA server. Look for the NA server with the highest player count which is usually Nexus.

Seems very suspicious to me.
