I only had it once, first epic battle it was snowing. The extra snow effects turned by PC into a potato, I tweeked the effects, and it got better.

I have noticed it as well, though it doesnt seem to be common in my campaign. To get around it I order them to charge and then reset them, it costs me some ranged volleys, but isnt terribly if I catch it early enough.

Individual experiences may vary. I have been binging since launch and have only had one crash. This seems above "par for the course" with early access titles. Now, I dont know about the multiplayer aspect, not really my thing, that may be all buggy and ate up. I am enjoying the game so far, content with the $40 I dropped on it.
