    True that. I hate being killed by upperstab while actually seeing it and holding upperblock. As many people said before, we cannot and probably shouldnt try to remove feinting from NW, however how are we supposed to block feint-spam attacks when blocking up takes weird (I still dont know why sometimes it works fine, sometimes I get stabbed right through it) amount of time to work?

    So I did as you said and increased the volume (by 20db) and tested it out. I still couldn't make it out.
    So then I edited the wav to have the normal sound +20db followed by my voice exclaiming "HIT!"
    I thought I'd definitely be able to hear this but apparently not. Does anybody have any ideas what could be my problem?

    I have the same problem, after increasing volume by XX db I still couldn't hear anything. Any solutions?

    Green one thing about accuracy (mine sucked today I know.. :d) - You kept telling that we have to wait ~ at least 3 seconds after presenting, well I'm 99% sure that accuracy depends ONLY on 'crosshair shape' (and projectile speed + weight which makes the bullet drop). So if crosshair is at its "final size" then waiting longer is pointless. Those M&B mechanics are clearly visible when playing archer (I've played quite a lot as archer in M&B), and I believe every ranged weapon works the same way. Bullet has the same chance to go anywhere within the crosshair shape (except some glitches which archers were abusing sometimes). Of course if you fire way too early - when your crosshair is very big, then its gonna be very inaccurate, but it takes only around 1 maybe 1,5 seconds to make it as accurate as possible.

    In overall - more dynamic melee fights is good direction, but there are some things which I think needs to be fixed
    Very close range stabs dealing no damage happens too often, its very annoying sometimes. You can stab guy in the back 2 times and it may deal no damage.. Also upperstab range seems a bit random sometimes, I dunno whats the reason for that - maybe lags maybe hitboxes maybe something else?

    Smoke patch

    Sometimes I get this problem too, explosives smokes are worst ones, it kills my framerate totally.. It should be possible to edit in particle system.txt file but im not that familiar with it.

    Opinion about the new Melee system

    Imo overhead stabs in general are great change. In previous system everybody who blocked just 1 direction (down) could rush into whole line of enemys and dance beetwen them without getting killed for a long while. Now everybody needs to be more aware of enemy attacks, but I agree that melee system should be continously improved because its not perfect right now. Idea of  more dynamic battles is great, but it needs few improvements - some of my stabs killed people who were definately out of my range (maybe because of lag, maybe some glitch, dunno..) also Im not sure about bayonett stabbing when enemy is very close -  looks like it creates 0 damage stab a little bit too often.

    I would think it would be a lot more fun if the low damage stun hit would be brought back either in the form of upper swing or side swings, which would make it even more skill demanding blocking wise.

    and I'd love to see side swings as low damage "mini stuns" too, but im afraid that devs wouldnt like such "complex" idea of bayonett fights. :wink:

    M&B:WB on Steam with NW on GamersGate

    3. DL the full game non-steam version.

    This works. Would be nice to activate gamersgate version on steam though..

    Woah, NW rocks! I've just played on server with only ~15 people, buuut those new sounds and skins are awesome!!
    Upper bayonet stab is as deadly as "down stab" (which is great in my opinion), ranker infrantry can not zoom (thats cool too) and well, I hope you guys get it as fast as possible! I would keep playing for whole day but have to study for exams :c
