In Progress [Issue] [Bug] As faction leader, player don't earn/lose rep when granting fiefs to faction's lords.

I won the vote and became the new faction leader of Sturgia after the king death. Then I noticed a bug, when the vote to grant fiefs to other faction's lords pops in, and I picked one of the lords, there was no gain or loss of reputation with the lords involved in the vote. Is it just me or...

let us choose the size and pick our own troops for caravans + no companion needed. Please.

I'm OK with companions leading. It is an easy way to buff their stats - particularly trade and steward if you want to use them as governors or leaders later.

But I've said it over and over - the best way to deal with bandit inflation as your level grows, is to be able to build better caravans. Caravans become cost ineffective after the player passes about level 15. They are pointless, and never earn their purchase price back. Ever.

What I really want, is to be able to manage their troops - like I do for my other parties.
I think in the end, giving some freedom to the player is always the right thing to do. I'm not against the companion caravan system, and even more, adding a way to operate the caravan with one or without one would be a way to make it even better. About the fact that we can't manage the caravan garrison, it seems that we all agree that this is very frustrating for late game progress.

let us choose the size and pick our own troops for caravans + no companion needed. Please.

"Kun the swift has been taken prisoner by the steppe bandits" how many times did we see that message... This could be solved by allowing the player to choose the size and the type of troops, like a garrison. Why do we need to take a companion to operate it? Why don't we just have a caravan...

Resolved The Khuzaits are being invaded by a horde of steppe bandits

Just went to the east after fighting for the Vlandians as a mercenary to join the Khuzaits. I was surprised to see the entire steppe was covered in bandit parties. I used console commands to teleport around the map and see how many there were... and I saw hundreds of small parties dotted across their territory. Looks like the Khuzaits are getting a taste of their own medicine, but I don't think this was intended by the devsthe
The steppe bandit are to many and the Khuzait lords never clear their territory. Every time I create a caravan that go from Varcheg to Khuzait cities, they get attacked and captured by them, even with the highest troops. The number of steppe bandits and the hideout location need some changes.

Does operating caravans leveling up trade?

That's true, right now you can't increase your trading skills by creating or managing a caravan. I hope that they will fix it soon because I don't know why it is so difficult to LVL up your trading skills when it's so easy to LVL up your steward or charm skills almost passively.

Resolved Dead lord given fief [1.5.1]

Can you upload your save file to upload.taleworlds.com? Please paste the link to this thread in the description box on the upload website so I can identify it.

This problem isn't fix in 1.5.2 still. There is a clan in my faction which all members are dead, but they still keep their fiefs, and they even got a new castle during the vote as if the clan was still alive.

    Marrying My Brother Off

Same problem here, I think this part of the game isn't coded yet...

Make your unoccupied clan members hold in your own settlements if you have at least one.

    Oh yes, this sucks too!

Even if you talk to the companion you don´t have the option to change his equipment, so have you to disband the party and take the companion into your party...

There should totally be an option when you talk to them. One of those very small changes that would improve the overall gameplay by small steps, so TW will ignore it  .

That's true, there is no option right now to change stuff or upgrade skills of your companion when he is leading an army.

I don't know if we must create another thread about that problem but everything is directly related to the companion management system. This is a tiny feature too, so I don't know.

Hope they won't ignore this thread
  11. limier

Make your unoccupied clan members hold in your own settlements if you have at least one.

You can tell them to reform their party remotely.

I know, but when they are at the edge of the map, it's difficult to have their armies in time and you can't give them the order to protect your own settlements for example. So they will live their own life in others faraway cities until they've got an army, and then "maybe" they will come back to your own settlements later, or maybe they will get captured by the enemy. This is definitely annoying and I don't think that would be much time-consuming for the devs to just code this little tiny feature that would improve a lot the gamer experience.

Last edit (sorry for the notification inconvenience) : I just want to add that If you want to upgrade your companion stuff and their skills, you need to have them in your army too. Which is not very easy with the current system

Make your unoccupied clan members hold in your own settlements if you have at least one.

Yeah this is really annoying. A way to avoid the travelling is to set the character you want as the governor of your settlement, leave then immediately re-enter the settlement and they'll be in the keep. Then you can do what you want with them and replace your governor, if you had one.

I didn't think about it, thanks for the tip! Anyway that would be a better experience to not have to use it

Make your unoccupied clan members hold in your own settlements if you have at least one.

I have 2 towns and one castle and when one of my clan member is defeated or just disbanded his army, I need to travel more than half of the map to reach them. Please, make them available in my own settlements... this is not currently a good gamer experience as it is.

[Suggesion] why the troops tier does not match their armors and weapons tier?

Considering that archers without arrows do no damage, it's pretty significant advantage. With just one stack of arrows, Imperial archers runs out of ammo in any mid to large battle. Especially against factions like Kuzaits with their large amounts of horse archers.

And Batanian fian is gone serve you better then Khuzait marksman. If you accept logic "it's weak because there is something better" then all archers in the game are weak save for Batanian ones.

Sturgian archers might not be the best in the game but they are not weak. Any t5 archer in the game is effective enough.

i would add that it is in the identity of battanian to have a tier 6 foot troop because all their lords are on foot and they are living in the woods. So, their tier 6 unit is a foot archer because they don't have any tier 6 cavalry like the druzinik for sturgian, the cataphract for imperial, the vanguard, etc. it's logical.

but let me try to put back this thread on the main topic. one detail i notice is that the symbol for the tier 4 troops is a pentagon, but the tier 3 is 3 chevrons. So, in my opinion they didn't respect the tier system for troops simply because they forgot the tier 4 during the dev process, maybe they were in a rush so they didn't had the time to finish properly his implementaion. the pentagon was intended for the tier 5 and they needed to make some change in the troop tier system not for "speed bonus" reasons but because they were in a rush and they made few mistakes.

So tier 5 troops are not tier five, most of them wear tier 6 armors, in fact they were intended to be tier 6. And vanguard, battanian fian, cataphract... are not tier 6 units but tier 7.

i really appreciate the tier system they've made but i wish to see it fully implemented because i think that was their main idea before they were out of time /money.

anyway thank you guys for taking the time to let a reply, can't wait to read your opinion about that.

ps : a pentagon is a plane figure with five straight sides and five angles (= tier 5)

[Suggesion] why the troops tier does not match their armors and weapons tier?

    Sturgian archers are not weak.

compare to other the others archers, they have less armor and less damage, so i wasn't the best student in math but less dmg + less armor = weaker.
And the speed bonus is not balancing this factor.

I don't think that units from different cultures are supposed to have comparable armors. I don't think units from different cultures are supposed to be comparable in general. Every faction have slightly different focus.

the different cultural armors are not comparable at all, even with the same tier. Some of them give more arm armor, other one give chest armor, and other one give leg armor. but if they respect the tier system that they half implemented themselves, the game would be more balanced and fun to play in my opinion.

but i respect your opinion. I think i'm just going to stop proposing anything now and just let the community decide what kind of game is going to be bannerlord.

i'll come back in one year, bye and have a nice day !

[Suggesion] why the troops tier does not match their armors and weapons tier?

Why should they? Where's the rule that units can only wear the same tier of armor as their own tier? When it comes to armor, tier of the armor is completely irrelevant at the end. It's just abstract number. What matter is the armor value.

I don't know why devs decided to give Sturgian veteran bowman lees body armor then Sturgian archer, but lighter armor makes unit faster. That might have been the reason.

i also thought about this, but then why did they gave a t5 (less light) armor to the tier 4 archer and not an armor that respect this speed bonus? in my opinion, it's more for cosmetic reasons, they did it to give the Sturgian an identity and the result make the sturgian archer weaker. So why don't they standardize the system? so that all the units are on the a closer step considering armors and weapon bonus?

if all the units wear their cultural armors, they keep their identity and the gap between armor bonus and weapon from one culture unit to another one is decreased.

[Suggesion] why the troops tier does not match their armors and weapons tier?

So i decided to create 2 threads about the tier system of Bannerlord, one for the tier system apply to the player and here is the one for the troops. right now the tier of the troops do not match the armor / weapon tier they wear. for example, here is a picture of a Sturgian archer Tier 4 and...

[Suggesion] the game is base on tier system (clans, troops, armors...) why not the player?

all right guys, first of all i would like to thank you for taking the time to give me feedback on that thread. i really appreciate it

now let's get to the core of this thread for each post.

We have this partially - you need a certain level of ride to get on a good horse, a certain level of archery for bows and a certain level of crossbow for crossbows. It could be made so that you need a cerain level of 1 handed skill to equip a good 1h weapon. Heck, some of this could have been made as perks.

that's right, i almost forgot it
the fact is that i don't think this perks system is incompatible with the tier system. The one handed perks is a great idea (y). There is also the armor that could benefit from this system. i mean you have the possibility to add also a required skill in athletism, wich seems to me the most linked perks to armor right now but i'm open to debate (that's one of the reason why i created this thread) and add also a required lvl to the player so that there is a real purpose for the player to level up his character.

Considering the fact that top tier armour spawns when two Sundays come together, making player unable to wear it until some requirements are met may be a huge pain: you stumble upon a good shiny armour, you have the money for it, but you can't wear it, because you have 6 Vigor when 7 is required. You have two options: leave the town, return when (and if) you reach that level 7 and find out that this armour is no more at the market. Or you may buy it and drag the dead-weight shiny piece of metal until you reach level 7.

And one more thing which makes me to oppose this idea is that with the new skill and leveling system it is quite difficult to raise your stats (I mean Vigor, Endurance, Intellect etc.). You can't level it up as often as you could do this in Warband and you may end up having few Vigor points on, say, level 28, when it is hard just to make a transition from level 28 to 29. How do you find the perspective of being a rich, well-known man with a ragged leather coat and a rusty iron sword? Of course, some may say something like "Lol, I can enter the town, smelt 9000 pitchforks and level up to 100 in 6 hours", but I came here to play the game and have fun, not to grind levels by smelting pitchforks.

all right, i wasn't expecting that everyone would aggree with this thread ?

the first thing is "armour spawn when two sundays come together", i don't aggree with that, in fact i think the tier armors are much more common than anyone could expect in the game. The thing is that, the lvl of your character determine the kind of armor you can find at the market. for example when my character reach a certain lvl, i couldn't see anny jewellry helmet in town, nor some imperial t6 armors, but when you do reach that lvl, those armors spawned by magic, but i could be wrong, this is only base on my observations and here is the problem, it require too much time to reach that treshold. I played the game alot (maybe to much) to see that happened, so in my opinion they must reduce the experience required for the player to reach the next lvl.

second problem, i wans't suggesting getting back into the previous warband / wsf system. on the contrary, i suggested that it could be base on the tier of the player so that you only bought armors in towns that you can use because in my opinion the first idea that you can't find good armors anywhere in town is easily fix by adding an armor vendor wich would sell the top tier armors based on the culture (imperial armors for imperial city for example).

Considering the rate of drops of good armour either in loot or in shops adding extra reasons not to be able to use it seems a little masochistic. Especially basing it on attributes which are exceptionally rare and you would need to gear your character for well before you actually could see the armour in question to know what it's requirements are.
I also feel that if you have the money you should be able to buy the armour the same goes with wearing it if you are lucky enough to loot it.
Weapons being tied to a skill level, like bows are, seems a little more realistic, but again unless they can sort out smithing it is such a can of worms that I think it's not worth even looking at.

like in the previous post, this problem is easily fix by adding a top tier armor vendor, in town like i wrote previously. Now let's jump to the money question, in my opinion the game can't be based all on "realistic reasons" because it's a game and the fact is that when the player is only looking for the "top tier armor" when you do reach a certain lvl, there is no more big evolution for the skin / stat of you character. Your are just collectionning the best armor stuff and you will have you character looking exaclty the same after 50+ hours of gameplay.

all right guys, let me know what you think about the tier system apply to the troops too please. i'm going to edit my initial post but just to clarify some ideas. see you, take care !

ps : again, i'm sorry if my english is not perfect. i'm not a native speaker. if you have any problem to understant my post, please tell me i i'll try to clarify it.
