    Based on this alone, it would seem they were right to permanently ban you.

    If you had any chance of getting unbanned before, your posts here have almost certainly torpedoed that prospect.

    I'm a little disappointed that they kept the leveling aspect from cRPG. I always felt it was good fun despite the grind, rather than because of it.

    I don't have any problem with them. Jumping while attacking is rarely a useful thing to do in Warband. It can throw off mediocre cav, but is usually suicide against any experienced cavalry player.

    Wow, that's considerably more blatant than I expected.

    I don't understand why anybody would go through so much effort to build a Warband-alike on a new engine, and then just nick the animations and sounds wholesale.

    The ruins map is a close enough copy that you can clearly identify the village spawn. The arena map is also a pretty clear-cut copy.

    That being said, I still welcome more games with interesting melee mechanics.

    The problem with making the shield a lot more vulnerable to random hits is that it would break much quicker when fighting multiple opponents, one the main advantages to carrying a shield.
    All melee in battle is shield-based (you will get shot in a serious matchup if you don't play with a shield). 2h is a non-issue in battle, so the advantage of a shield for taking on multiple opponents is something everybody has. This won't affect equipment balance in any significant way.

    Oh god, I hope there isn't more footage of me. I have been steadily getting worse and worse from not playing (and I was already pretty rusty at the time of the first videos, much like Sarah). I used to be able to block quite consistently, and now I can barely footwork properly.

    A conversation option ('interrogate' or something to that effect) that allows you to procure information on army locations at the expense of honor might be a decent option. Actual reference to torture (let alone descriptive text of the methods used) would be needlessly gratuitous.

    Well, that's largely the point of having a skill based melee system. If a brand new player did stand a reasonable chance against an experienced player in a 1v1, then there wouldn't really be much point in playing the game.

    Aggression is already risky enough in 1v1 combat. Kicks were modified to their current implementation for a very good reason: an enormous number of fights ended with them.

    'Eurofeint' was just a term given to a class of particularly effective feints involving transitions between thrusts and sideswings. Eurofeints aren't really specific to Europe; people everywhere do them.

    The basic one is pretty easy to pull off:
    * Look down
    * Hold your left mouse button down
    * Move your mouse in a circular pattern
    * Tap your right mouse button at appropriate times such that you alternate between thrusts and right swings
    * Release the left mouse button when you are done with your feint

    Getting the timing down is the hardest part. It's very easy to do it too quickly, rendering the feint useless.

    Do you mean Tobi's feints specifically, or just eurofeints in general?

    The easiest feint of the latter type is just a simple 'thrust-right-repeat' pattern, which can be done by moving your mouse in small circles and tapping your right mouse button at the appropriate time. The timing for that is probably slower than you expect.

    I can't speak for others, but I've never had any problems with the POM server. The few times I've seen people go on TW rampages, they have been dealt with fairly quickly. This is in stark contrast to the GK siege server, where I end up getting hit by teammates more than enemies.

    I did have a self-proclaimed admin of POM accuse me of autoblocking while dueling in the Jestserver duel server, and threaten to ban me should I ever join the POM server. I don't actually think the guy is an admin, however. Probably just some random jerk.

    The reason I do it is that I just never really liked having an identity in games. The only reason I ended up with this name is because I had to pick one for cRPG. I still make a new name every single time I play Native.

    I play very few new multiplayer games anymore, primarily because most force you to pick a single name and stick with it.

    After two(ish) years, I finally managed to get my revenge on that damn champion fighter. I never managed to kill it back in the old GK duel server.

    The duel teleportation is a godsend. There has been a large influx of players who think nothing of running right into your duel swinging at nothing (or driving their horse into it).

    The game wouldn't be worth playing if you could just jump right in and be good at it.

    Consider this the medieval equivalent of Quake or Tribes in terms of skill level. A new player in Quake facing off against an experienced opponent can expect a K:grin: ratio in the -3:50 (or whatever the frag limit is) range.
