    Archers need a nerf.

You can make an army 100% of archers and win battles against equal force sizes and ranks on max settings while in most cases taking nearly no losses.

Yet people argue they are balanced. It's funny that they choose to die on that hill, because the archers won't.
They seem to be a pain to recruit in large numbers in single player especially during a war.

    Archers need a nerf.

Battanian Fian Champions uses fast 2 handed weapons, they do nicely versus Cavalry.
    ?
So they fixed the one handed weapon and replaced it with a 2 handed weapon?
  3. Foreign Celt

    AI still not fixed???

Yeah that doesn't look too good I focused on the front row and saw that some had their swords out instead of their spear equipped.

Questions and discussion concerning settlement upgrades.

Here is the video I am going to be referring to so there is some understanding as to the basis of my questions. https://youtu.be/DbfOVgZMLWY Will, we still be able to upgrade villages as we did in Warband or can we only affect our settlement if we control a castle or town? By extension are...

    Lairs

It would be great to be able to set up a lair or camp we could use and defend in the early game. It would also be interesting to be able to put up minor defenses based on the time and resources you put into the lair and your engineer skill.

Anyone else notice the removal of falxemen and ulfhednars from the battanians?

Yeah, I think they got the idea for shock infantry from the tactics the scots used when fighting the English in the Jacobite rebellions. Along with the Norse Gaelic Gallowglasses. Though during this time period the scots mainly relied on pikemen like the schlitron though that was during the time of Robert the Bruce 2 or 3 centuries after the time the game is set in.

Here is a link to the faction troop trees.

Anyone else notice the removal of falxemen and ulfhednars from the battanians?

What do you guys think they will do with the infantry since they seemed to be originally focusing on shock infantry and with the main focus on archery?
  9. Foreign Celt

What do you guys think of the new features being removed?

I want to know what you guys think of the removal castle build and joining minor factions.

Shame I was looking forward to joining a minor faction and building a castle. I hope they will add those features in a patch or later update when they have had more time to work on them if possible.

    So ring forts.

We know that Taleworlds has stated that for the Battanians forts they are drawning on more iron age era ring forts rather than later Norman influence. So since I don't know too much about ring forts beyond knowing that it was more or less a layered defense what do you guys want to see in-game?

    Village upgrades.

So what are some things you guys think taleworlds should add/do about village modification? I think it would be good for them to add an option to build an armory to better equip militia so they aren't armed with just farm tools. Maybe they could add a building that allows the fief-lord to run...

Unit veterancy/experience and continually increasing weapon proficiency.

I am mainly talking about the context of general infantry not companions if I didn't make that clear originally.
  14. Foreign Celt

Unit veterancy/experience and continually increasing weapon proficiency.

They could have it similar to the player where later game they rarely rank up due to the higher amount of experience required to increase the proficiency.
  15. Foreign Celt

Unit veterancy/experience and continually increasing weapon proficiency.

So do you guys think it would be good for taleworlds to allow their recruitable units weapon proficiency to continue to increase alongside the player's own even if the unit is its factions top-tier unit? Kinda Like what Total war has so it pays to have experienced units over there recently...

Falxmen and Dacian/Thracian influence on the Battanians.

What you mentioned about different clans having different troop trees would be interesting. Considering that the Battanians have access to ulfhednars they could add in heavy infantry similar to Scot/Irish Gallowglasses which come from clans that are descended from Norse Vikings.

Falxmen and Dacian/Thracian influence on the Battanians.

Roman sources have said the Dacians used scale armor which is reflected in the armor the Battanians use.

Falxmen and Dacian/Thracian influence on the Battanians.

This topic is mainly for us to bounce ideas off of each other concerning this game and how Taleworlds has incorporated that culture into the faction.

Norse warriors in a Celtic type Faction? Gallowglass as possible unit in game?

Yeah, I particularly like the design of this helmet. http://myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.27393.html

Norse warriors in a Celtic type Faction? Gallowglass as possible unit in game?

I just think it would be cool to add them into the game. Since it would explain the Norse influence a bit but still have a historical basis to it since in Scotland and Ireland there are clans of Norse ancestry and that the way the Gallowglasses fought would fit in with the factions focus on archery and shock infantry. Not to mention I like the armor of the gallowglass with the Sparth axe in the article I linked to in the original post.
