  1. Married Clan Member Won't Leave the Party

Sounds like a bug, Occasionally bugs can cause lord to be put into you party like that when they shouldn't be.
Thanks, I thought that might be the case. Anyway, I'm keeping her.
  2. Married Clan Member Won't Leave the Party

I accepted a marriage proposal for my cousin, but noticed she is still in my party over a year later. According to the Encyclopaedia, she is the spouse of a Sturgian Lord (still alive), and she doesn't appear as a Clan Member in my Clan tab. But she is in my party and I can assign tasks to...
  3. Third Generation All Barren

You're right, she was a Clan leader of a very poor clan consisting of two elderly women. Enjoy yourself, Pops.
But in other breaking news, I'm pleased to announce our Clan's first pregnancy in over 25 game-years. Thinning down the clan was a success! I'm down to 45 members and will continue to shrink. I will be naming the child after @Zerosaiko for all the advice. Standby for Gender reveal.
  4. Third Generation All Barren

Ok, here is a new development that might be related. I'm marrying off my family as quickly as possible to reduce the clan size, and accidentally accepted a marriage proposal for my 85 year old widowed father (his fourth marriage). But strangely, he left our family and joined the bride's clan in another empire/culture. I've never had a male family change clan's on marriage. I'm down to 48 family members. Is this a result of the large clan size?
  5. Third Generation All Barren

    Yeah, I only have 15.

In this game I did make it a focus to marry my daughters off to other Clans within my Kingdom to help them.
Thanks, that's very helpful. I wish I had known this before I invested so many hours in this playthrough, but not too late to fix my situation. I've started desperately marrying the girls off. They will be missed!
  6. Third Generation All Barren

Oh whoops, just realized that I forgot to put parentheses to make it clearer. 28 is the most you can have as a T6 clan before the penalty starts to kick in, and 56 is the point at which there's absolutely no chance (though even before then the chance will be so low that it's worth focusing on just you/your spouse)

    4 + (4 * Tier)
👍 Got it, thanks. My 58 strong family is no chance!
  7. Third Generation All Barren

Thanks @Zerosaiko that calculation is very useful. I'm tier 6, so 28 is my optimum family number? I should marry off a few of my girls to get the number down, which is a shame because they have all been developed to be excellent Governors. However, now that I know this calculation, in future I will try not to marry off the boys too early to allow a more natural spread of births.
  8. Third Generation All Barren

In my current game on live, my Grandson's wife is now pregnant.
Thanks @DrDragonlance. Can I ask how many total family members you have? I've pulled all my grandkids out of the Town so I can get on with the game. It can't just be bad luck. They all had the fertility perk, husbands and wives, and were locked up together for over 3 years of gameplay.
  9. Third Generation All Barren

In about 11 in-game years of my latest playthrough, my char has only been lucky to have only one baby. All clan members also have either 1 or none. Something's been done to the fertility system, and it looks like it's bugged.
That's what worries me. There is a Mod that allows more control of family planning, but I understand it only works for the main player character, not other family members.
Its very disappointing, because the inter-generational playability is a unique feature of the game. To be this broken kind of undermines the whole system.
  10. Third Generation All Barren

Thanks everyone for your replies. All good advice/info. I'm pretty sure I have way too many clan members, but a few have died off recently, so I was hoping that if any maximum clan population cap exists, it would get refilled.
I have 58 family members and an additional 9 companions in the clan. My 78 year old father has just married his third wife. I constantly receive marriage proposals for all my old widowed family members, so it doesn't seem like a hard population cap is in effect.
  11. Best army compositions that are fun to play

It depends where I own towns, because I like to build an army around the free high level recruits added to the garrison. Right now I use a balanced army of approx 25% Imperial Cavalry, 25% Mtd Cav mainly Family Members and Khuzaits, 25% Infantry (Sturgian Heavy Axemen), 25% Foot archers, preferably Vlandian Sharpshooters. This mix handles every battlefield scenario, and is also strong enough to overthrow a rebellion town if the opportunity arises.
  12. Third Generation All Barren

There are a few fertility threads active, but seem to address only first generation fertility issues. My original character and his two brothers had 5, 7 and 9 nine kids respectively, so I know how to make it happen. Our kids had only 2-3 children themselves, but I was at war a lot so didn't...
  13. Beta Patch Notes e1.5.10

Just updated to this new patch and all Hell breaks loose. I'm playing a game that spans three generations, and I own every town on the map. This means every other kingdom are using my towns to dump prisoners. So this new Ransom Offer pop up is going off NON-STOP! How can i switch that off?
6 towns have rebelled almost immediately after years of happiness, and I assume that will continue. I can actually deal with that, but the Ransom Offer pop-up thing is completely unnecessary.
  14. Marrying Sister and Brothers or Childern off to other

It has to be a new save
That's it, thanks! I was playing the wrong version.
  15. Marrying Sister and Brothers or Childern off to other

Anyone tried this yet? I'm still getting the same run around. The Clan leader will say, "Yes, we are looking for someone for so-and-so. You should speak to him." And then so-and-so won't offer any dialogue to discuss marriage.
  16. Cant send brother on caravan.

You can't make an infinite amount them. Who has infinite children?
The bad thing about this limit is that your heir can't develop strong trade skills while you are alive, only what they can get from dumping battle loot. If you are playing a multi-generational campaign of buying settlements, you want your heir to work on a caravan while you are still alive.
