  1. There is no way to gain a positive value in Honor trait

I was able to gain Honest before the beta branch was made available. It appears to have come from completing a huge number of "deliver horses" quests. There *is* another trait related bug, though - if you start with the Valor trait from character creation, you will lose it immediately upon completing your first battle, regardless of the odds involved (I managed to lose it when winning a solo battle against 10 looters).
  2. Resolved Victory celebration animations are premature

Infantry going to the cheering, celebration of victory when the first enemies start fleeing has a serious problem with being premature - to the point of lethality. I had a force of Aserai troops, mixed infantry and cavalry, that fought against a Beni Zilal group which had picked up some...

  4. Oil breaks Food Variety morale bonus

An easy test to verify - get all the food types in your party inventory (at time I verified this, I had 30 of each for all food types). You should have a +8 Food Variety bonus to your party morale. Now pick up *one* Oil, and check your morale again. The Food Variety bonus will have fallen to...
  5. Perisno Mod Bug Reports

Giant ladies have been added (I've seen a message flash by about King Bullius getting a wife in Sut), but male giants appear to still have courtship completely disabled - for both giant and non-giant options.  The option to even ask about being closer to another lord's house simply does not display as a choice, regardless of who I ask - this was tested on two separate giant characters, first had a bit of playtime (started before any hotfixes), second was taking all the noble-type creation choices to start with 150 renown (started under HF2).

    Yes.
It was broken and couldn't be fixed anyway since there are no horizontal sliders in Warband and Perisno has too many factions.
And I got tired replying to comments "when will you finally fix it?".
But I guess now I'll be replying to comments "(why) was that removed?". (yours is not the first one in the last couple of days)

Probably a bit late, but GekoNewer handled this problem (since Gekokujo has a huge number of factions) by making it separate pages you can click through via a "next page" button.
  7. Perisno Mod Bug Reports

Using HF15, I can no longer start the Kingslayer quest.  I get through the initial conversation with the Bard in Amarna and the quest log never updates to begin the quest.
  8. Perisno Mod Bug Reports

0.8 HF14 - I'm running into a couple issues, one minor, the other a bit more painful.

    1. Signed up as a mercenary for the Reich, I got my initial payment, but am not receiving any weekly payment for being a merc.  Also, I'm pretty sure I have served longer than 30 days and not gotten the "do you want to renew?" prompt.  I have verified I am *not* an actual vassal, I could not vote for a new Marshal, nor vote for who got control of a captured castle.

    2. I've helped the Marshal retake Arklow Castle three times now, and every time after we complete the siege successfully, someone ends up waiting inside the castle (usually Princess Birgit) as 1-2 other vassals decide to re-siege the now-friendly-controlled castle.  This makes everyone else freak out and run in circles looking for the hostiles and failing to find any.

    3. From a previous game on 0.8 HF12, signed up to be a vassal for the Bakhal, who made peace with the Sut almost immediately after I joined them.  We then stayed at peace for a ridiculously long time (through the entire scripted start of the Zann invasion starting from a month and a half before they landed), with the ruler not declaring war on anyone.  I got lucky, at least, that one of the lords had the right personality to get the "kill a caravan or sack a village" quest, but that seems like a rather excessive step to take just to be able to be at war, since it's nearly impossible to build opinion with the ruler during peacetime to ask him to start a war.
  9. Perisno Mod Bug Reports

Just tried out the fix posted.  It seems to have resolved the fail-to-assist problem, as well as the routed soldiers issue.

Also, not sure if this is new, or was intended but didn't work before, but the new morale effects during combat in that fix are pretty damn nice.

Edit:  I am seeing one new bug with this fix.  When trying to leave a combat scene, sometimes the "are you sure you want to retreat" window will pop up, despite the message about having won and "press tab to leave" already firing off as normal.
  10. Perisno Mod Bug Reports

Been playing and enjoying 0.76 for the last few days, time for a few possible bug reports (some might just be unlisted changes?  Not certain).

    - No longer getting any opinion boost with a ruler for defeating an enemy lord.  This is serving as a mercenary, not a vassal, though that did not prevent it from triggering in the past.

    - No longer getting any opinion boost from rulers or related/honorable lords for helping save a lord from certain defeat.  (Related to both of these items - the opinion boost for participating in a siege together still works fine)

    - During some battles, random infantry on my winning side will rout mid-fight.

    - During many battles, in particular easy to notice against Outlaw Criminal groups, some of the enemy will rout during the battle, then after winning, a second battle will trigger solely against those who were routed in the first battle, often with morale breaking early and a second rout actually working as normal.

    - Formations are great, but the initial orders given to reform/relocate the groups don't always work properly.  Specifically, attempting to shift infantry in front of archers (tested both with a default start and giving an initial "hold this position" before proceeding), the infantry may ignore an "advance ten paces" command multiple times.  Likewise, moving cavalry can be hit or miss - they will ignore advance orders, but either group is usually ok with a new "hold this position" at a different location.

    - As mentioned by others, no factions assist each other during battles against or aiding the player.  They will still pile up normally against other unit stacks, but do not have the "assist range" they used to.
  11. Friends with bandits, cannot attack

Keep on telling them you are there to attack, hit the screen where you can only leave, then go back and do it again until their faction rep shows as negative and you should be able to enter combat.  Keep in mind factions get really buggy if you have gone positive then negative again, and some groups will suicide into you demanding a fight even when outnumbered 50:1.
  12. Discussion + Suggestions

Maybe a week.  It took us longer than 72 hours to get up to Grindr and finish the wait on ladders with the chasing and fighting along the way.  If they set their first target as someplace with a siege tower necessary, the buff would run out mid-siege, especially if it's someplace far across the map, like Hakkon, Kaikoth, or Drahara territory.
  13. Perisno Mod Bug Reports

Couple bug reports and a bit of feedback, related to the Zann.

    1)  Holding castles under the Zann does not allow recruitment of noble Zann troops, only the last/original faction that owned the castle.  Example:  I control Wotin Castle up where the Valahir used to be, and I can only recruit Valahir Thegns from it as a Zann vassal.  I can recruit Zann troops from all villages we control with no problems.

    2)  Some marriages may be broken outright.  General Chingis suggested I start courting his daughter early on, after we had captured all but one of the Valahir holdings.  I did so, and got to the point I could ask her if we had a future together, she accepted and it immediately kicked over to the marriage cutscene without pushing me to ask for permission from the father.  This counted as eloping, which pissed off General Chingis, his relatives, and Emperor Zann himself.  I had saved beforehand, so rolled back, went through a bit more conquest as we marched down to take Karnoth, and helped Chingis secure Karnoth for himself before getting another Visit Lady quest.  She was in Karnoth, I stopped by, recited a bit more poetry, asked about a future, and it went straight to the elopement cutscene again.  Note:  I have not married anyone in any other factions yet, so cannot confirm if this is just the Zann or anyone else.

    3)  As above, the Emperor has no clothes, and nobody seems to want to be the one to tell him.

    4)  Feedback - the Zann troops overall are mediocre at best.  Their only real advantage comes in their numbers, and letting the fellow lords win by pure autocalc.  Their gear seems ok, and in theory they should do fine, but they get absolutely wrecked in both field and siege battles due to no shields.  I am not saying they *need* shields, because it messes up their thematic appearance, and have plenty of experience fighting with no shields thanks to Gekokujo.  The difference being in Gekokujo, nobody has shields anywhere, so the field is a bit more even.  Something that might be worth looking into as a possible fix that was being looked at for the Sugoroku submod is making a Wakizashi or offhand item that looked like a sword (or battle fan) but acted like a small shield for some deflection purposes.  The archers are fair overall, not outstanding but adequate enough to get the job done.  Horse archers are as terrible as the Khergit in native, but that is more a problem of the AI than anything else.  Compared to the Elvarie Shadow Riders tree, the Zann seem to fall short, not certain if that is intended or not.

Edit:  Almost forgot two more things related to the siege at Karnoth.

    5)  One of the defenders spawned on top of the ceiling/roof of the whole cavern, and nobody could see them to kill them, forcing the entire siege to a halt as I had to retreat from one guy and let the autocalc take him down.

    6)  The roof in Karnoth has a leak.  It regularly rains inside the city, this may be an engine issue related to scenes and not being flagged indoors, though uncertain if that is something you guys can actually change or not.
  14. Discussion + Suggestions

After a bit more play, including several restarts, I wanted to pipe up and say the change to the Zann so each general has enough troops to take a town solo when they land may be overkill, but does resolve the issue with the invasion fizzling out within the first month in most cases.  During one game, I signed up with them shortly after they landed and before their marshal started his first campaign, and saw firsthand what the issue was breaking them.

From the spawn point over near Lesbere, we made peace with everyone but the Hakkon, Kaikoth and Valahir, then marched all the way up to Grindr to lay siege to it.  In response, the Valahir forces kept on trying to break the siege by running up, grabbing the attention of the *entire* Zann army, then fleeing when they saw how outnumbered they were.  Unfortunately, due to the sheer size of the Zann armies, they could rarely catch anyone to kill, so they ended up getting pulled down almost to the village of Vole before beating up a single lord, wiping his army, then the marshal seeing he was too far from the target town and the Emperor had already run past and started a siege by himself.  Because of this, the marshal called off the campaign, and everyone else stood around doing absolutely nothing for the next few days, unless a villager or scout/patrol caught their eye.  If I had not parked my own army in such a position that no enemies could get close enough for the Emperor to see them, he would have done the same and the siege would have broken again, giving the lords time to start defecting because they had no lands.  Once the siege completed and the assault began, it became far easier to keep everyone happy and busy, and the Valahir ended up wiped off the map within a couple weeks, with my personal intervention only being responsible for a single castle, while the marshal did all of the rest of the work taking everything else.  Not sure if it was chance or intended, but all the Zann lords were Upstanding/Good Natured/Martial, so they all consistently cooperated and answered the marshal's summons, which may have had something to do with it.

TL;DR - Zann ADHD was what prevented them from succeeding at invading properly.  Giving them enough men that the Emperor alone could take a town as long as he didn't get distracted appears to have helped fix it, mostly.

An alternative that might work to relieve that issue, if having that many men is still causing the problem for others, may be to give some of (or all?) the generals a few points of pathfinding instead of starting with 600 men each, so they can catch and kill lords rather than be kited off and forget what they are doing.

    MampB5_zpspusrf5jl.jpg

Shot in the dark here - your Reich rep is above 0?  The caravan, and the Reich Lord both seem to be tied to Reich faction despite the rep hits to others.  Dragon Priest, too, though they give a negative hit to Maccavia for some odd reason.  I never paid attention to the Valahir guy to confirm what faction he is tied to, though.

There is a similar issue on the Kingslayer questline, if your rep with Outlaws is positive, you cannot fight Sekr on the last step, breaking the quest since you can't attack any outlaws anymore to go negative again.

Over in Karnoth there are two Ladies available for courting without any attached family members.  Lady Kara and Lady Jiri, if I remember the names correctly.  Asking to know more about them only gives "I am." and asking to know more about their relatives redirects immediately to "Never mind."  Not certain if they actually serve a purpose, but none of the local lords seem to want to court them.

For that matter, I rarely see any lords anywhere courting anyone.  Marriage at feast messages do pop up every once in a while, but the bards always have nothing to report on any rumors about anyone, no matter how often or when I ask them what they have heard.

This happened by decreasing the number of attempts to court other ladies in order to clear the way for Princesses.  The Princesses  were constantly saying "my heart belongs to another", so I kept trimming away at the lords courting each other.  Eventually, it turned out the Princesses simply did not have a good romantic chemistry value and were too polite to tell the player they were losers who didn't thrill them, so they lied and said their heart belonged to anyone else.  After fixing that the old lords chasing every skirt that moves (except Princesses) was not restored, and thus this observation.

Of course, Zeph commented the Princesses didn't please him, so perhaps that's early warning for a Princess rewrite
I'm not so enchanted with Princesses these days; players treat them with great contempt.  In my opinion a player should try harder to court a princess, but too many wanted the princess with scant effort, so I at least let them try to improve their romantic chemistry by boosting relations with their parent, upping their renown, having a racial bonus, and letting their stats help influence each princess according to different criteria.  All while leaving 152 marriageable kingdom ladies open.

There are more kingdom ladies than men to seek them, including more than can have fathers or brothers (and thus are orphaned).  marriage assumes a father or brother is available and if not there would be many points generating errors in the wedding script, so in theory orphans should elope.  But... it never got finished.  Six months ago no kingdom past Hakkon had marriageable ladies; and no mechanic existed to keep families from crossing kingdom boundaries at all.  At least now it is colorful...

Fair enough.  Something that likely is unintended is a few ladies aren't where they are supposed to be.  By that I mean not even in the right kingdom of their appropriate relative/spouse.  I have found 3 confirmed so far, but there may be more as one wasn't visible til a feast was held where she was hiding out.

Lady Jadeth - Vizier Khalil's wife - in Maccan
Lady Ayaraj (sp?) - Royal General Hakkon III's daughter - in Fountain Hall
Frau Adelheid (sp?) - Field Marshal Lioniasus's wife - in Alburq Castle (note she may be in Murdenholl, which was taken by Drahara in my game, as the Kaiser's court relocated to Alburq)

Said ladies show up in the character notes page as being vassals of the alternate faction, not where their husband/father is actually serving.  There might be more, currently a merc over in the Reich, and haven't managed to catch other faction feasts in capitals to see who doesn't belong.
    ----------------
Edit update:  switched over to MelsPerisno when it went live, and apparently the relatives in wrong locations has some kind of random factor to it?  New game, female Forniron start, less than a month in, and no lords have changed faction yet.  I made it to 3 feasts (Redwood, Falcon, Hakkon), there were no misplaced ladies over in Amarna.

Lady Dierdra - Aethling Ragir's sister - in Fountain Hall
Lady Esyaviel - Lord Gerlad's sister - in Forniron

Not anything gamebreaking at all, but can be a major inconvenience if the player wants to marry to connect to someone specific and their daughter/sister is off in an enemy court - it would also make the Visit Lady quest extremely difficult having to sneak into a town.

Besides this, a couple very minor things:  Black Striped Lance is misspelled as Stripped Lance.  Kaikoth Clansmen default to cavalry, despite being infantry - troop tiers one step up or down are correctly assigned.

  19. Version 0.772 Released!

Just started playing this a couple weeks ago and really enjoying it so far.  A quick something - in the update log for next version, you state that innkeepers will only buy in bulk - will that also apply to Ramun the Slave-Trader over in Forde?  He currently appears to be inconsistent, in that he buys in bulk at his usual 50/prisoner, but if you sell individually, he gives their full price value (which doesn't seem like it's intentional).

Certain Officer or Hatamoto Guard troops carry Tetsubo as one of their primary weapons, you just need to find the right factions.  I want to say Tokugawa and Miyoshi both do, but not positive about which of the others do as well.  Alternatively you can also try picking up some rebel troops, I believe Kinai Rebels have Kanabo mixed into their equipment pool, though much lower frequency than with the Hatamotos.
